Photoprotective effect of topical treatment with Lopezia racemosa extract against deleterious UVB irradiation effects in the skin of hairless mice

Lopezia racemosa is one of the most important weeds of Mexican origin. The methanolic extract of this plant (MELR) is mainly composed of 5 glycosides derived from quercetin. MELR has ability to scavenge radicals such as DPPH and ABTS. In addition, it has absorption in the UVA region.
