HAT1/HDAC2 mediated ACSL4 acetylation confers radiosensitivity by inducing ferroptosis in nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesCell Death and Disease
Protein acetylation modification plays important roles in various aspects of tumor progression. Ferroptosis driven by lethal lipid peroxidation is closely related to tumor development. Targeting ferroptosis has become a promising strategy.

Research advances in role of histone deacetylase 4/5 in anxiety disorders

open access: yesShanghai Jiaotong Daxue xuebao. Yixue ban
Histone deacetylase 4/5 (HDAC4/5) mediate epigenetic regulation in stress-related disorders. Class Ⅱa HDACs feature signal-dependent shuttling between the nucleus and cytoplasm. By assembling complexes with transcription factors or co-repressors, HDAC4/5

4-phenylbutyric acid promotes migration of gastric cancer cells by histone deacetylase inhibition-mediated IL-8 upregulation

open access: yesEpigenetics, 2020
Histone acetylation is regulated by histone acetyltransferases (HATs) and histone deacetylases (HDACs). It is associated with gene transcription and expression.

Impaired Chaperone‐Mediated Autophagy Accelerates Intervertebral Disc Degeneration by Inducing MIDN Accumulation to Target TSC2 for Proteasomal Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates how chaperone‐mediated autophagy (CMA) regulates intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). Under normal homeostasis (B), CMA degrades cytoplasmic Midnolin (MIDN) to maintain proteostasis. Under inflammatory stress (A), impaired CMA leads to cytoplasmic MIDN accumulation.

The Effects of Pharmacological Inhibition of Histone Deacetylase 3 (HDAC3) in Huntington's Disease Mice.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
An important epigenetic modification in Huntington's disease (HD) research is histone acetylation, which is regulated by histone acetyltransferase and histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes.

Multi‐Technique Integration Identifies O‐GlcNAc Transferase in Fibroblast‐Like Synoviocytes as a Therapeutic Target for Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
AI‑guided single‑cell transcriptomics identifies OGT as a key regulator enriched in rheumatoid arthritis fibroblast‑like synoviocytes (RA‐FLSs). Inflammatory stimuli activate the OGT–SAP130 axis, which modulates the H3K27ac/H3K27me3 balance and epigenetically silences BTG2, promoting aggressive transformation of RA‑FLSs.

Interferon regulatory factor 1 enhances T cell differentiation in patients with myasthenia gravis

open access: yesNeural Regeneration Research
Interferon regulatory factor 1 is involved in many autoimmune conditions and is increased in patients with myasthenia gravis. However, its function in myasthenia gravis remains unclear.

Bis(4-hydroxybenzyl)sulfide: a Sulfur Compound Inhibitor of Histone Deacetylase Isolated from Root Extract of Pleuropterus ciliinervis

open access: yesMolecules, 2007
A sulfur compound, bis(4-hydroxybenzyl)sulfide (1) was isolated from the root extract of Pleuropterus ciliinervis. Its structure was elucidated using NMR spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometric analysis.

Targeting the KAT7/H3K14ac/RAC2 Axis Mediates OXPHOS to Promote Stemness Maintenance and Malignancy in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SOX2 upregulates KAT7 in glioma stem cells, where KAT7 deposits H3K14 acetylation at the RAC2 promoter to activate RAC2 transcription. RAC2‐GTP subsequently promotes PAK1/2/3 phosphorylation, increasing tricarboxylic acid cycle flux and mitochondrial respiration to support glioblastoma malignancy.

MicroRNA-22 Inhibits Histone Deacetylase 4 to Promote T Helper-17 Cell-Dependent Emphysema

open access: yesNature Immunology, 2015
Smoking-related emphysema is a chronic inflammatory disease driven by the TH17 subset of helper T cells through molecular mechanisms that remain obscure. Here we explored the role of the microRNA miR-22 in emphysema.
