Field Development with Scenario Reactivation of Non-Active Zones Through Reservoir Simulation: A Case Study of The Kappa Offshore Field, West Natuna

open access: yesJGEET: Journal of Geoscience, Engineering, Environment and Technology, 2023
This research provides the scenario of a field development plant with the primary goal of acknowledging the reservoir model of Kappa Field in determining the optimum field development scenario to increase the recovery factor.

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

4D seismic history matching

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2021
Abstract Reservoir simulation models are used to forecast future reservoir behavior and to optimally manage reservoir production. These models require specification of hundreds of thousands of parameters, some of which may be determined from measurements along well paths, but the distance between wells can be large and the formations in which oil and

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Constraining 2D Hydrogeological Inversion With 3D Lithological Data

open access: yesWater Resources Research
In hydrogeology, piezometric data are the key constraints for model calibration. Their limits for three‐dimensional (3D) parameterization have often been pointed out, with water heads commonly regarded as having too little sensitivity to vertical ...

Integrating Machine Learning Workflow into Numerical Simulation for Optimizing Oil Recovery in Sand-Shale Sequences and Highly Heterogeneous Reservoir

open access: yesGeotechnics
This paper aims to evaluate the efficiency of various machine learning algorithms integrating with numerical simulations in optimizing oil production for a highly heterogeneous reservoir.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
