Bu—A New Antigen at the HLA‐B Locus
Tissue Antigens, 1978Evidence is presented for a new allele at the HLA—B locus defining a new antigen, Bu. Population studies indicate a gene frequency of 0.0043 in English Caucasians. No HLA—B locus triplets involving the Bu antigen have been observed. Inheritance of Bu has been established in three informative families, each of at least three generations.

HLA — B 12 and HLA — B 27 Antigens and Susceptibility to the Corneal Allograft Reaction
Acta Ophthalmologica, 1978Our series comprised 100 penetrating corneal transplantations: 36 cases with HLA‐B 12 and/or B 27 antigen in the recipient and, as controls, 64 cases without these antigens. The cornea was vascular in 44% of the HLA‐B 12/B 27 group and in 40% of the controls. In the HLA‐B 12/B 27 group AR developed in 13 of 36 cases, 36%; but in the control group only ...

Endothelial Monocyte Antigens Are Coded for by Loci Centromeric of HLA‐B
Vox Sanguinis, 1985Abstract. 900 pregnancy sera were screened for monocyte antibodies. 23 sera (2.6%) were found to be reactive with monocytes in an allotypic pattern distinct from blood group ABO, HLA‐A,B,C, DR and DQ specificities. Because of strong reactions and high reproducibility, 4 sera with pure endothelial monocyte (EM) reactivity and 2 sera also positive with ...

Protein micelles of human histocompatibility antigens (HLA-A and HLA-B)
Molecular Immunology, 1981Abstract Human histocompatibility antigens (HLA-A and -B) are membrane proteins which have large hydrophilic domains outside the cell membrane and a small hydrophobic portion in the lipid bilayer. In this paper we describe optimal conditions for preparing micelles of detergent-solubilized HLA-A2 and -B7 antigens.

A New HLA‐B Antigen (HOK‐1) Found in the Japanese
Tissue Antigens, 1979The HLA—B8 antigen is one of the characteristic antigens associated with organ specific autoimmune diseases among Caucasians. Among the Japanese, HLA—B8 positives have been assumed to be extremely rare. By using some HLA‐B8 typing sera, a new HLA‐B antigen, HLA‐Bw4 positive, was found in the Japanese.

Novel HLA‐B alleles associated with antigens in the 7C CREG
Tissue Antigens, 2001Abstract: This paper describes 9 novel HLA‐B locus alleles. All of the alleles carry sequence motifs observed in other HLA‐B alleles.

HLA-A and HLA-B Antigens in Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Bladder
Journal of Urology, 1979A possible association between HLA-A and HLA-B loci alleles and bladder carcinoma has been investigated in 44 patients with biopsy proved transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder. The patients were compared to 400 healthy controls and matched for ethnic origin.

A New HLA‐B Antigen, BHT: Definition by Serological and Biochemical Means
Vox Sanguinis, 1989Abstract. In 3 unrelated individuals, a new, so far unknown HLA‐B‐locus antigen was found. This HLA‐B antigen, provisionally termed ‘BHT’, is recognized by extra reactions with alloantisera against the B5 cross‐reactive group. BHT can be clearly discerned from all cross‐reactive antigens by one‐dimensional isoelectro focusing (1D IEF), as it reveals ...

HLA‐B SNA antigen: a BW6 associated B locus antigen belonging to the B5 CREG
Tissue Antigens, 1989A new B locus antigen has been found in members of two unrelated families and in a patient originating from Morocco belonging to the Berber population. A complete analysis has been performed with antisera from the 9th and 10th IHWS defining the B5 CREG antigens.
