Challenges of Dengue in Hematological Disease Patients: Descriptive Analysis From the DANGO Registry During the 2023–2024 Outbreak in Argentina

During the 2023–2024 Argentine dengue outbreak, 33 patients with hematological disease showed high complication rates, frequent hospitalization (64%), severe thrombocytopenia (90%), and 6% dengue‐attributable mortality. Transfusion‐associated cases were documented.

IgG4 anti‐CD47: Erythrophagocytosis and potential transfusion complications

Abstract Background IgG4 monoclonal anti‐CD47 for cancer immunotherapy resulted in anemia necessitating red cell (RBC) transfusions. Although the antibody readily binds to CD47 on RBCs, the mechanism underlying the anemia associated with IgG4 is poorly understood.

An assessment of green plasma: The in vitro hemostatic superiority of a currently discarded blood product

Abstract Introduction Recent studies have linked trauma patient outcomes to the plasma donor's sex, with premenopausal females associated with improved survival and lower organ failure. Currently, green‐colored plasma (due to oral contraceptive use) is removed from the donor pool. We set out to evaluate the hemostatic potential of green plasma.
