Sex Matters: Hormonal and Chromosomal Determinants of Autoimmunity and Anti‐Cancer Immunity Across the Lifespan

ABSTRACT Sex plays a key role in shaping both anti‐cancer immunity and autoimmunity. Biological factors underlying sexual dimorphism have now been identified in multiple aspects of anti‐cancer immunity and autoimmunity. These factors include sex differences in hormone levels, chromosome complement, and expression of the long non‐coding RNA XIST.

3D Bioprinted Human Synovium‐Cartilage Models Mimic Rheumatoid Arthritis Microenvironment and Recapitulate In Vivo Therapeutic Responses

This study presents human in vitro rheumatoid arthritis models using chondrocytes recellularized type II collagen scaffold and 3D‐bioprinted Gelatin‐Matrigel hydrogels with fibroblast‐like synoviocytes, pro‐inflammatory macrophages, and protective barrier macrophages, closely recapitulating key rheumatoid arthritis pathological features.

Targeted Inhibition of CD74+ Macrophages by Luteolin via CEBPB/P65 Signaling Ameliorates Osteoarthritis Progression

This study identifies CD74⁺ macrophages as key drivers of synovial inflammation in osteoarthritis (OA). The flavonoid luteolin is predicted to inhibit this pathway by blocking Nuclear Factor Kappa‐light‐chain‐enhancer of Activated B cells (NF‐κB) signaling. To enhance delivery, a targeted nanoplatform (MDSPL) is developed.
