Inversion positivity and the sharp Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We give a new proof of certain cases of the sharp HLS inequality. Instead of symmetric decreasing rearrangement it uses the reflection positivity of inversions in spheres.

Integrating out Holographic QCD back to Hidden Local Symmetry

open access: yes, 2010
We develop a previously proposed gauge-invariant method to integrate out infinite towers of vector and axialvector mesons arising as Kaluza-Klein (KK) modes in a class of holographic models of QCD (HQCD).

Measuring Health Literacy Among French Pupils With the Health Literacy Survey Child Questionnaire-15 (HLS-Child-Q15)

open access: yesHealth Literacy Research and Practice, 2023
Background: Health literacy is a critical health determinant. To implement initiatives aiming at improving health literacy among children, adapted measurement tools are needed. Objective: This study aimed to translate, adapt, and test the Health Literacy

Vector meson dominance and the rho meson

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss the properties of vector mesons, in particular the rho^0, in the context of the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) model. This provides a unified framework to study several aspects of the low energy QCD sector.

Assessing the Performance of a Handheld Laser Scanning System for Individual Tree Mapping—A Mixed Forests Showcase in Spain

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
The use of mobile laser scanning to survey forest ecosystems is a promising, scalable technology to describe the 3D structure of forests at a high resolution.

Self-similarity, small-world, scale-free scaling, disassortativity, and robustness in hierarchical lattices

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, firstly, we study analytically the topological features of a family of hierarchical lattices (HLs) from the view point of complex networks. We derive some basic properties of HLs controlled by a parameter $q$.

A Survey and Evaluation of FPGA High-Level Synthesis Tools [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
High-level synthesis (HLS) is increasingly popular for the design of high-performance and energy-efficient heterogeneous systems, shortening time-to-market and addressing today's system complexity.

Hand-assisted laparoscopic resection versus total laparoscopic gastric surgery for primary gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs): an analysis from a high-volume institution

open access: yesBMC Surgery, 2022
Background Laparoscopic resection of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) is technically feasible and associated with favorable outcomes. We compared the clinical efficacy of hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery (HLS) and total laparoscopic ...

Lifelong learning in Palestine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Palestine's universities are recognised as being involved in outstanding work in the difficult conditions of a belligerent occupation. Internal travel restrictions and over 600 checkpoints and barriers have unsuccessfully tried to atomise higher ...
