Large-scale sensitivity adjustment for Gd-HMME room temperature phosphorescence oxygen sensing

Spectrochimica Acta - Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2022
The oxygen sensing enhancement based on room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) of Gd-HMME adjusted by imidazole was studied. The phosphorescence intensity IP0 and the Stern-Volmer equations under different imidazole concentration were obtained, and the physical mechanism of imidazole regulating the oxygen quenching constant KSV was analyzed.

Growth inhibition effect of HMME-mediated PDT on hepatocellular carcinoma HepG2 cells

Lasers in Medical Science, 2014
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is considered a promising new strategy for liver cancer treatment. Three elements of PDT--optical output power, irradiation time, and photosensitizer concentration--play important roles in promoting cell death. This research aimed to characterize the effects of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME)-based PDT on ...

Facile Synthesis of a Multifunctional Porous Organic Polymer Nanosonosensitizer (mHM@HMME) for Enhanced Cancer Sonodynamic Therapy

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces
Sonodynamic therapy (SDT), which involves the activation of sonosensitizers to generate cytotoxic reactive oxygen species under ultrasound irradiation, is a promising noninvasive modality for cancer treatment. However, the clinical translational application of SDT is impeded by the lack of efficient sonosensitizers, the inefficient accumulation of ...

HMME combined with green light-emitting diode irradiation results in efficient apoptosis on human tongue squamous cell carcinoma

Lasers in Medical Science, 2015
Hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME) is a novel and promising porphyrin-related photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy (PDT). This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and potential mechanism of HMME-PDT under irradiation of green light-emitting diode (LED) with wavelength of 530 ± 20 nm in treating human tongue squamous cell carcinoma Tca8113 ...

Inactivation of bovine immunodeficiency virus by photodynamic therapy with HMME

Chinese Optics Letters, 2008
To investigate the effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with hematoporphrin monomethyl ether (HMME) on bovine immunodeficiency virus (BIV) can provide the basis theory for photoinactivation of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). To assess the protection of HMME-PDT on the cell line Cf2Th infected with BIVR29 by 3-(4,5)-dimethylthiahiazol-2-y1-3,5-di ...

Effect of concentration on photobleaching of hematoporphrin monomethyl ether (HMME) in solutions

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
To analyze the effect of concentration on the photobleaching of HMME, the loss of HMME absorption in simplex solution (PBS) and complex solution (albumin buffer) was monitored using steady-state absorption spectra during 532nm laser irradiation. Three concentrations (4, 10, 80μmol/L) were set for each type solution.

A study of diagnostic criteria established for two oral mucous diseases by HMME-fluorescence spectroscopy

Lasers in Medical Science, 2015
Malignant oral ulcers are common pathological occurrence in oral and maxillofacial tumors. A noninvasive method for diagnosis of malignant oral ulcers was developed in the study, which is based on hematoporphyrin monomethylether (HMME) fluorescence spectroscopy.

Preliminary study of optical properties of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME), a new PDT sensitizer

SPIE Proceedings, 2010
We report on some of the optical properties of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME), a relatively new photosensitizer that has been in clinical trials in China since the early 1990s. We characterized the photosensitizer on the basis of one photon absorption and emission.
