Photocatalytic inactivation effect of HMME-TiO2nanocomposites on SCC cells under visible light

SPIE Proceedings, 2015
In this paper, HMME-TiO2 nanocomposites was synthesized and characterized through TEM, Uv-vis spectra, Zeta potential, FTIR spectra. The characterization results show that HMME was successfully conjugated onto the surface of TiO2. It can be seen from the TEM images the average size of HMME-TiO2 conjugation is nearly spherical and the particle size ...

Therapeutic effect of photodynamic therapy using hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME) on human cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC939

Neoplasma, 2010
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an effective local cancer treatment when aphotosensitizer is administered and the tumor is irradiated with light. We examined the effect of PDT using HMME as the photosensitizer, and the 630nm diode laser on human cholangiocarcinoma cell line QBC939. Cell viability was determined by MTT assay.

The effect of oxygen on the photobleaching of hematoporphrin monomethyl ether (HMME) in different solutions

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
To analyse the effect of oxygen on the photobleaching of HMME, photobleaching rates of HMME when bubbled with oxygen or argon, added with singlet oxygen quenchers or hydroxyl radical quencher were compared. According to the solvents in which HMME was dissolved, four groups were set, HMME-DMSO, HMME-PBS, HMME-Albumin buffer, HMME-Cells suspension ...

[Effect of HMME-PDT on hyperplastic scar in rabbit ear model].

Zhonghua zheng xing wai ke za zhi = Zhonghua zhengxing waike zazhi = Chinese journal of plastic surgery, 2010
To investigate the effect of HMME-PDT (Hematoporphyrin Monomethyl Ether-Photodynamic therapy) on Hyperplastic scar in the rabbit ear.The acute model of dermal Hyperplastic scar in the rabbit ear was established. 24 scars were randomly divided into 2 groups: the experimental group (n = 12) received HMME-PDT treatment, and the controlled group (n = 12 ...

The apoptosis induced by HMME-based photodynamic therapy in rabbit vascular smooth muscle cells

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
ABSTRACT Objective To study the effects of HMME-based photodynamic therapy on proliferation and apoptosis of rabbit vascular smooth muscle cells(VSMCs). Method The cytotoxic effect of HMME-PDT on rabbit vascular smooth muscle cells was studied by means of Trypan Blue assay, HMME at 10µg/ml concentration and the light dose at 2.4~4.8 J/cm 2 were ...

Injectable HMME‐Loading Emulsion Hydrogel for Ultrasound‐Triggered Release and Enhanced Sonodynamic Immunotherapy

Advanced Healthcare Materials
AbstractImmune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapies, such as targeting programmed death‐1 (PD‐1) and programmed cell death protein ligand‐1 (PD‐L1), are often ineffective in low‐immunogenic tumors, limiting their widespread use. In this study, an emulsion hydrogel is developed to encapsulate the sonosensitizer hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME ...

Comparison between HMME mediated photodynamic therapy using 413nm and 532nm for port wine stains: a mathematical simulation study

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
Introduction: As it is always difficult to find the optimal combination of photosensitizer and of laser wavelength to achieve selective vascular damage in PWS-PDT, the selective vascular effects of HMME (Hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether) mediated PDT with 413 nm and with 532 nm were compared by mathematical simulation in this study.

Intracellular metabolism, subcellular localization and phototoxicity of HMME/HB in ovarian cancer cells.

Anticancer research, 2011
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is considered a promising new strategy for ovarian cancer treatment. As the key component in PDT, photosensitizer metabolism and localization in cancer cells is particularly important. The localization of the photosensitizers hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME) and hypocrellin B (HB) were determined in the ovarian cancer ...

Effect of HMME-PDT with different parameters in rabbit ear model: a possible way for hypertrophic scarring

SPIE Proceedings, 2007
Background and Objective: Hypertrophic scar is a pathological scar that grows aberrantly by excessive deposition of collagens in the dermis. It is known that photodynamic therapy (PDT) contributes to a variety of diseases, however, the use of inhibiting scar formation has not been fully explored. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect
