Optical properties of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME), a PDT photosensitizer

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2012
We report on some of the optical properties of Hemoporfin (hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether, HMME), a photodynamic therapy (PDT) photosensitizer that has been in clinical trials in China since the early 1990s. We characterized the photosensitizer on the basis of one- and two-photon absorption and fluorescence emission.

Comparing the clinical efficacy of hemoporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy for port wine stains in children with prior pulsed dye laser treatment history [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
BackgroundHemoporfin-mediated photodynamic therapy (HMME-PDT) is an effective and safe therapeutic modality for port wine stains (PWS). However, the clinical efficacy is influenced by multiple factors.

Comparing HMME-PDT and Cynergy dual-wavelength laser in the treatment of facial PWS

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2022
Pulsed dye laser (PDL) is the gold-standard therapy for port-wine stains (PWSs), but the therapeutic efficacies vary widely with each individual. Recent studies suggest that hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether-photodynamic therapy (HMME-PDT) is an effective alternative in the treatment of PWS.

Comparative analysis of metabolome and transcriptomes to explore the inhibited influence of sonodynamic therapy combined with lonidamine on hepatocellular carcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesDrug Delivery
Sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has emerged as a promising approach for treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) by combining sonosensitizers with low-intensity ultrasound. However, SDT alone could not achieve satisfactory results.

Influential Factors in the Efficacy and Safety of Hemoporfin-Mediated Photodynamic Therapy for Facial Port-Wine Stains. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Cosmet Dermatol
ABSTRACT Background Hemoporfin‐mediated photodynamic therapy (HMME‐PDT) is a novel and promising treatment for port‐wine stains (PWS); however, the factors affecting the efficacy and safety are controversial. Aim In this study, the relationship between influential factors and the efficacy and safety of HMME‐PDT for facial PWS was clarified.

Differences in sensitivity to HMME-mediated photodynamic therapy between EBV+ C666-1 and EBV− CNE2 cells

open access: yesPhotodiagnosis and Photodynamic Therapy, 2010
The aim of this study was to compare the sensitivity of hematoporphyrin monomethyl ether (HMME)-mediated PDT in the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) positive and negative human nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells. The intracellular uptake of HMME in C666-1 (EBV+) and CNE2 (EBV-) cells was quantitatively determined after incubating with different concentration ...
