Cytomegalovirus–Cell‐Mediated Immunity Assays for the Prevention and Management of Cytomegalovirus in Transplant Recipients and Patients Receiving Cellular Therapies

open access: yesTransplant Infectious Disease, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the emerging role of CMV‐specific cell‐mediated immunity assays in CMV risk prediction and individualized prevention strategies across SOT, HCT, and CAR‐T settings. ABSTRACT CMV cell–mediated immunity (CMV–CMI) testing has emerged as a promising tool to refine CMV risk stratification and inform prevention strategies in transplant

The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current has important functional role in the repolarization reserve of canine and human ventricular muscle

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend The ultrarapid delayed rectifier potassium current (IKur) has long been considered an atrial‐specific current with no functional role in the ventricles, despite evidence of its expression in ventricular myocytes. In the present study we challenged this prevailing concept and investigated the potential role of IKur in ventricular ...

Metal‐free Hydrogen Generation from Seawater and Silicon Waste: A Circular Approach

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 32, 3 August 2026.
Hydrogen was rapidly generated directly from untreated seawater and polymeric Si waste without any transition metal catalyst. The in situ generated polymeric cross‐linked Si resin was completely depolymerized under mild conditions into chloro‐silane monomers.

Fractal analysis of major faults and fractal dimension of lineaments in the Indo-Gangetic Plain on a regional scaleKey points

open access: yesEarthquake Science
The Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP) is one of the most seismically vulnerable areas due to its proximity to the Himalayas. Geographic information system (GIS)-based seismic characterization of the IGP was performed based on the degree of deformation and ...

Integration of an electronic Drug Burden Index risk assessment tool into Home Medicines Reviews: deprescribing anticholinergic and sedative medications

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Drug Safety, 2019
Background: Our aim in this research was to establish whether integrating an electronically generated calculation and report on the Drug Burden Index (DBI) in the Home Medicines Review (HMR) setting is an accurate, feasible and useful risk assessment ...

Invasive minimal Microvascular Resistance Is a New Index to Assess Microcirculatory Function Independent of Obstructive Coronary Artery Disease

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
Background Coronary microcirculatory dysfunction portends a poor cardiovascular outcome. Invasive assessment of microcirculatory dysfunction by coronary flow reserve (CFR) and hyperemic microvascular resistance (HMR) is affected by coronary artery ...

Investigation Into the Metabolism and Elimination Behavior of RU 58841, and Its Influence on the Steroid Profile in Humans

open access: yesBiomedical Chromatography, Volume 40, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT RU 58841 is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen, developed for the treatment of androgen‐dependent conditions. This study aimed to characterize the human metabolism of RU 58841 for the first time and to assess its systemic exposure following topical administration.

Asymmetrically and Vertically Coupled Hybrid Si/GaN Microring Resonators for On-Chip Optical Interconnects

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
A working small-footprint asymmetrically and vertically coupled hybrid Si/GaN microring resonator (HMR) was demonstrated. The HMR of a minimum radius of 20 μm was fabricated in a high-yield (~90%) hybrid nanophotonic platform that allowed ...

Tillage does not impact soil greenhouse gas emissions in a Central Texas rainfed maize–cotton system

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Agricultural soils are a significant source of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, primarily as N2O. Monitoring how management practices impact soil gas fluxes (CO2, CH4, and N2O) is useful for making sure conservation practices (e.g., no‐till) are sustainable with regards to all potential environmental impacts.

Ecological and Management Drivers of Population Fluctuations in the Goitered Gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa) Across Iran

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 9, September 2026.
We analysed 16 years of census data from 27 protected areas across Iran to identify factors associated with population growth in the goitered gazelle (Gazella subgutturosa). Population dynamics were associated primarily with protection history and management characteristics and with water availability in surrounding landscapes, while broad‐scale ...
