Hole filling by relative background and propagation map
SIGGRAPH Asia 2012 Posters, 2012Many autostereoscopic (glasses-free) displays require a large number of view images to synthesize 3D images for wide viewing zone and smooth motion parallax. However, it is difficult to capture a lot of view images by real cameras. In general, only two view images with their corresponding disparity maps are available in producing the required virtual ...

Combined hole-filling with spatial and temporal prediction
2013 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2013A combined hole-filling approach with spatial and temporal prediction is presented in this paper. Depth image-based rendering (DIBR) is generally used to synthesize virtual view images in free viewpoint television (FTV) and three-dimensional (3-D) video.

Hole Filling for View Synthesis
2012Depth-image-based depth rendering (DIBR) technique is recognized as a promising tool for supporting advanced 3D video services required in multi-view video (MVV) systems. However, an inherent problem with DIBR is to deal with the newly exposed areas that appear in synthesized views. This occurs when parts of the scene are not visible in every viewpoint,

Interframe hole filling for DIBR in 3D videos
2015 IEEE International Conference on Consumer Electronics - Taiwan, 2015Depth-image-based rendering (DIBR) produces multiple views efficiently. However, its process lacks some viewpoint information. There will be holes, which influences the 3D video quality. Previous DIBR techniques were mainly applied to 3D images, so it only relied on the single view and the depth map to fill the holes, but insufficient repair ...

Hole Filling on Three-Dimensional Surface Texture
Multimedia and Expo, 2007 IEEE International Conference on, 2007Real-world surface textures normally comprise rough surface geometry and various reflectance properties. These surface textures are different from 2D still texture as their images can therefore vary dramatically with illumination directions. Research into hole filling has long been focusing on 2D images, surfaces of 3D models or video clips to ...

Holes filling of scattered point cloud based on simplification
Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2021To address the problem of feature points missing and surface holes after 3D reconstruction. A method of filling holes after extracting feature points of point cloud data is proposed. In this paper, the method of extracting feature points by multi-discriminant parameters is used to simplify the point cloud. The original shape features are retained while

Hole filling method of triangle mesh
2011 International Conference on Multimedia Technology, 2011This paper presents an algorithm of hole filling in triangle mesh. There are four steps in this algorithm. First, the hole's boundary information is obtained by the relations of vertex, edge and angle in the triangle mesh. Secondly, the hole is directly filled by triangles according to the order of the angles in the hole.

Universal Hole-Filling Strategies for Coprime Arrays
IEEE Transactions on Signal ProcessingCoprime arrays (CAs) are found to be captivating for striking a balance among the increased number of degrees of freedom (DOFs), reduced mutual coupling and applicable aperture. However, holes in the difference co-array (DCA) reduce the achievable number of DOFs, and further restrict the complete utilization of the aperture.

Through-Hole Filling by Copper Electroplating
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2008Through holes (THs) with different shapes were formed by laser drilling on a printed circuit board to evaluate the filling capability of two copper plating formulas. The shapes of these THs were cylindrical, V- and X-shaped. Two copper plating formulas, accelerator-free formula (AFF) and accelerator-containing formula (ACF), were employed in this work.

A hole filling algorithm for medical imaging
The 2nd International Conference on Information Science and Engineering, 2010Surface integrity of 3D medical imaging is crucial for surgery simulation or virtual diagnoses. However, undesirable holes often exist due to external damage on bodies or accessibility limitation on scanners. To bridge the gap, the paper proposes an algorithm of filling holes for 3D medical image data based on moving least squares (MLS) method.
