The hydrolysis of agro-industrial residues by holocellulose-degrading enzymes [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Microbiology, 2012
Holocellulose structures from agro-industrial residues rely on main and side chain attacking enzymes with different specificities for complete hydrolysis. Combinations of crude enzymatic extracts from different fungal species, including Aspergillus terreus, Aspergillus oryzae, Aspergillus niger and Trichoderma longibrachiatum, were applied to sugar ...

Lignin-phenol monomers govern the pyrolytic conversion of natural biomass from lignocellulose to products

open access: yesEnvironmental Science and Ecotechnology, 2021
The effect of the interaction between lignin-phenol monomers and holocellulose in natural biomass on the distribution of pyrolysis products remains unknown. The results of this study showed that the interaction between lignin and holocellulose during the

Integrated biorefinery for cellulosic ethanol and spherical nanolignin production from coconut waste

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Green coconut waste was subjected to different fractionation methods to obtain integrated lignin nanoparticles and cellulosic ethanol. Pretreatment with gradual addition of dilute sulfuric acid provided a higher structural hemicellulose precursor yield (68.2%).

Oxidative Fast Pyrolysis Enabling Autothermal Production of Porous Functionalized Biochar and Anhydrosugar/Phenol‐Rich Bio‐Oil From Biomass

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Oxidative fast pyrolysis of biomass enables autothermal production of value‐added products. ABSTRACT Oxidative fast pyrolysis can potentially overcome the heat‐supply bottleneck of conventional fast pyrolysis by enabling autothermal operation while also tailoring product quality through controlled oxygen addition.

Acetylation of Holocellulose in Fibrous State [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Japan, 1955
Abstract Acetylation in fibrous state of holocellulose, its alkali-refined product, rayon pulp and Bemberg rayon was undertaken to disclose the effect of pentosan and the structure of holocellulose. 1) Acetylation of air-dried holocellulose is roughly controlled by surface resistance regardless of various ratios depending ...
