Multi-illumination 3D holographic display using a binary mask
Optics Letters, 2022We introduce a novel, to the best of our knowledge, method to increase the bandwidth in holographic displays. Here, multi-angle illumination using multiple laser diodes (LDs) is adopted to expand the limited diffraction angle of the spatial light modulator (SLM).

Curved multiplexing method for 3D holographic display
Imaging and Applied Optics Congress, 2020A curved multiplexing method is proposed to increase the view angle and information capacity. The different objects are reconstructed by bending a composite hologram. It is proven to be viable theoretically and experimentally.

Holographic Display of 3D Data
1992Holography is a powerful optical technique for recording and displaying 3D information. In this chapter we discuss the application of holography in the display of tomographic data. It helps to have a good understanding of 3D perception in order to determine whether holography can be used beneficially in the display of scientific and medical data.

Replication optics for a holographic 3D display system
SPIE Proceedings, 2003The display of 3D images containing all the depth cues required by the human vision system can be achieved using a reconfigurable Computer Generated Hologram (CGH) with high pixel count. A technique which has been developed to produce CGH's with the required number of pixels, and at video refresh rates, is known as Active Tiling TM (AT).

Future of photorefractive based holographic 3D display
SPIE Proceedings, 2010The very first demonstration of our refreshable holographic display based on photorefractive polymer was published in Nature early 2008 1 . Based on the unique properties of a new organic photorefractive material and the holographic stereography technique, this display addressed a gap between large static holograms printed in permanent media ...

Super-fast refresh holographic liquid crystals for holographic 3D display
SPIE Proceedings, 2015Doped liquid crystals, as super-fast refresh holographic media, are very useful in holographic 3D video display because of their extraordinarily high optical nonlinearity arising from laser-induced director axis reorientation. We obtained real-time dynamic holographic display with holographic response time under an order of a microsecond using the ...

Noise-filtering method for large-scale holographic 3D display
2018 IEEE International Conference on Imaging Systems and Techniques (IST), 2018In a digital holographic display, it is not desirable to observe the conjugate image and zeroth-order diffracted light in the reconstructed image. To remove noise, various methods have been proposed to limit the noise bandwidth in the Fraunhofer region using optics.

Hologram region segmentation method for 3D holographic display
Journal of the Optical Society of America ATo enhance computational speed and reduce mutual crosstalk between layers in the design of 3D holograms using a layer-based method, this paper presents what we believe to be a novel hologram design approach based on region segmentation. The primary principle of this method involves partitioning the 3D object into multiple layers along the axial ...

3D Image Display Using Holographic Stereograms
SPIE Proceedings, 1989The holographic stereogram is synthesized from a series of ordinary photographs, and is a very attractive medium for displaying 3D images. This paper presents a method of synthesizing a cylindrical hologrphic stereogram with white light reconstruction called multiplex hologram, and fundamental properties of reconstructed images such as distortion and ...
