An updatable holographic three-dimensional display

Nature, 2008
Holographic three-dimensional (3D) displays provide realistic images without the need for special eyewear, making them valuable tools for applications that require situational awareness, such as medical, industrial and military imaging. Currently commercially available holographic 3D displays use photopolymers that lack image-updating capability ...

Binocular holographic display based on the holographic optical element

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022
Due to the limited pixel pitch of the spatial light modulator (SLM), the field of view (FOV) is insufficient to meet binocular observation needs. Here, an optimized controlling light method of a binocular holographic three-dimensional (3D) display system based on the holographic optical element (HOE) is proposed.

Interactive holographic display

SPIE Proceedings, 2014
A holographic display which is capable of displaying floating holographic images is introduced. The display is for user interaction with the image on the display. It consists of two parts; multiplexed holographic image generation and a spherical mirror. The time multiplexed image from 2 X 10 DMD frames appeared on PDLC screen is imaged by the spherical

Digital holographic display

SPIE Proceedings, 2009
This paper describes how a Digital Holographic Projector is designed and implemented to project two-dimension virtual images onto the volumetric display media. In this research, we focus on the method to create 3D models, diffractive algorithm and the display media.

Three-dimensional color holographic display

Applied Optics, 1999
Three-dimensional (3D) color holograms are recorded in a cerium-doped, strontium barium niobate (SBN:60) photorefractive crystal. These holograms are shown to reconstruct true color reproductions of the original object with an observable field of view of 37 degrees.

Holographic Display using Volume Holographic Recording Medium

Imaging and Applied Optics 2018 (3D, AO, AIO, COSI, DH, IS, LACSEA, LS&C, MATH, pcAOP), 2018
We propose a holographic display technique that reproduces complex optical field by combing analog hologram and digital referencing. In the proposed method, large number of basis light are pre-recorded in a volume holographic recording medium and they are optically addressed and reconstructed by using a spatial light modulator.

Holographic See-Through Displays

Digital Holography and Three-Dimensional Imaging 2019, 2019
See-through displays, including head-up displays (HUD) and augmented reality (AR) displays, allow the viewer to see both the natural world and a projected image thanks to a combiner element. To offer larger field of view (FOV) and an increased eye box, holographic combiners have been used in the past.

Wide angle holographic video projection display

Optics Letters, 2021
Holographic projection displays provide high diffraction efficiency. However, they have a limited projection angle. This work proposes a holographic projection display with a wide angle, which gives an image of size 306 m m × 161 m m at 700 mm and reduced speckle noise. The solution uses single
