Use of holographic optical elements in optical storage

Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1990
Reflection holographic optical elements for CD/CD-ROM optical pickups and polarizing holographic optical elements for WO and MO disk read/write heads have been developed. This talk discusses how holographic optical elements fit for optical heads, including their advantages and disadvantages from the view point of application approach.

Binocular holographic display based on the holographic optical element

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022
Due to the limited pixel pitch of the spatial light modulator (SLM), the field of view (FOV) is insufficient to meet binocular observation needs. Here, an optimized controlling light method of a binocular holographic three-dimensional (3D) display system based on the holographic optical element (HOE) is proposed.

Bandwidth of holographic optical elements

Optics Letters, 1982
The diffraction efficiency, bandpass, and spurious beam rejection are studied for the holographic cascade lens that consists of a diffraction grating in contact with an off-axis zone plate. An analysis is presented for the bandpass of the volume diffraction grating, including the effects of grain polarizability.

Stratified volume holographic optical elements

Optics Letters, 1986
Volume holographic optical elements are of considerable interest for applications in optical information processing and computing systems and in optical interconnect technology. Typical volume holographic optical elements are fabricated from bulk photosensitive materials, such that the holographic recording process occurs throughout the entire volume ...
