Advances in holographic optical elements

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
Recent advances in the design and recording of holographic optical elements are illustrated by means of two representative examples - focussing lens and multiple beam grating. The focussing lens design method is based on an analytic ray-tracing procedure that yields an analytic solution for the diffractive grating function.

Holoconcentrators as holographic optical elements

ICALEO '83: Proceedings of the Information Processing and Holography Symposium, 1983
In this paper, two basic problems of dichromated gelatin holoconcentrator designs: ray-tracing computing and diffraction efficiency characteristics optimization, are considered.

Holographic solar concentrator using multiplexed holographic optical elements

2018 23rd Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC), 2018
In this paper, we present the multiplexed holographic optical elements (HOEs) using photopolymer for solar concentrator application. We experimentally confirmed that multiplexed holographic lens can condense the lights with high optical efficiency.

Holographic Optical Elements Using Polyvinyl Carbazole Holographic Material

SPIE Proceedings, 1986
We developed a new holographic material: polyvinyl carbazore material. The advantage or the material over conventional DCC material is that it has high durability against humidity and transparency. Some optical properties of the material and some applications are presented.

Holographic Optical Elements with Electro-optic Control

2021
Although polymeric and liquid crystalline materials have been separately studied for many years, optical devices based the interaction between these two materials in a composite device have come to the forefront of technology in recent years. Liquid crystals typically have strong interactions with the surfaces with which they make contact, with the ...

Aberration coefficients of curved holographic optical elements

Applied Optics, 1986
A general formula is derived that gives all aberration terms of holographic optical elements on substrates of any shape. The spherical substrate shape and the planar substrate shape are treated as important special cases. A numerical example illustrates the need of including higher-order aberrations.

Use of holographic optical elements in optical storage

Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1990
Reflection holographic optical elements for CD/CD-ROM optical pickups and polarizing holographic optical elements for WO and MO disk read/write heads have been developed. This talk discusses how holographic optical elements fit for optical heads, including their advantages and disadvantages from the view point of application approach.

Holographic Optical Element for Visual Display Applications

Applied Optics, 1973
Off-axis and off-bisector reflection-type holographic visual display elements have been recorded in dichromated gelatin deposited on planar or spherical shell substrates of glass or Plexiglas. A procedure for bonding gelatin to Plexiglas is given. Holographic elements are recorded at the argon wavelength of 514.5 nm and reconstructed with spectral ...

Diffractive components: holographic optical elements

1993
Besides refractive and reflective components, planar diffractive optical elements are promising for free space optical interconnects. The content of this chapter is focused on holographic optical elements (HOEs), which are diffractive elements fabricated by recording the interference pattern of an object and a reference wave in a photosensitive ...

Photovoltaic concentrator using a holographic optical element

Applied Optics, 1988
A photovoltaic concentrator is proposed that uses equatorial tracking (the rotation axis of a concentrator points to the North Star), so that the change of the sun's altitude angle is minimized. The solar concentrator consists of a Fresnel lens (objective), a holographic optical element made on photoresist with 90% diffraction efficiency, and a field ...
