PBRM1 Deficiency in Microglia Leads to Excessive Neurogenesis and Autism‐Like Behaviors via the CCL5‐CCR1/5‐β‐catenin Signaling Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Microglial PBRM1 deficiency drives excessive hippocampal neurogenesis by enhancing CCL5–CCR1/5 signaling, leading to autism‐like behaviors. A pro‐inflammatory IL1α+/TNFα+ microglial subset is identified as a key cellular contributor to this process. PBRM1 represses Ccl5 expression at the transcriptional level.

Optimizing Operations with Home Cage Monitoring in Animal Facilities

open access: yes
Abstract Operational efficiency is a critical determinant of success in laboratory animal facilities, shaping financial sustainability, research quality, and the well-being of both staff and animals. This chapter focuses on how home cage monitoring (HCM) systems can serve as a central driver of efficiency when integrated thoughtfully ...

Oral Actinomyces Species Exposure is Associated with Anxiety‐Like Behavior, Mitochondrial Remodeling, and Altered GABAergic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oral exposure to cannabis‐associated Actinomyces species, particularly A. meyeri, is associated with anxiety‐like behavior in mice in the absence of detectable bacterial translocation or overt systemic inflammation. These findings support a potential oral‐brain metabolic axis involving candidate metabolites such as arginine and argininosuccinate ...

Study Design and Data Analysis in Home Cage Monitoring Experiments

open access: yes
Abstract Home cage monitoring (HCM) represents a paradigm shift in rodent behavioural research, replacing brief manual observations with continuous digital surveillance that captures animal behaviour in its natural context. This technological revolution generates vast amounts of data, offering both unprecedented opportunities and ...

Home-cage behavior after seizure remission and anticonvulsant treatment.

open access: yes, 2019
Two months after the cessation of daily injections, mice were reintroduced into home-cage monitoring chambers. (B) Overall distances moved between previously saline (n = 12) and PTZ-treated (n = 17) mice were no different (group x hour, F19,513 = 0.44, p>

Targeted Mechanogenetics to Modulate Specific Deep Neural Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces mechanogenetics, a nanobubble‐enhanced sonogenetic strategy for selective modulation of feeding‐related neural circuits in the mouse lateral hypothalamus. Mechanogenetic stimulation modulates feeding behavior through glutamatergic projections from the lateral hypothalamus to the ventral tegmental area, highlighting its potential ...

A Hypothalamic Oxytocinergic–Sympathetic Axis Couples Anxiety Dysregulation With Impaired Tendon–Bone Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
RCI is associated with functional suppression of oxytocinergic neurons in the PVN. Reduced PVNOXT neuronal activity contributes to altered sympathetic regulation involving the IML–sympathetic chain pathway, accompanied by changes in norepinephrine signaling at the BTI.
