Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Cointegration Rank Test and Long Run Specification: A Note on the Robustness of Structural Demand Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Private demand systems provide a practical application for analyzing identification issues in cointegration analysis. The paper conducts Montecarlo simulation experiments of cointegrated demand systems by assuming non-separability of government ...

Clustering Algorithm Reveals Dopamine‐Motor Mismatch in Cognitively Preserved Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore the relationship between dopaminergic denervation and motor impairment in two de novo Parkinson's disease (PD) cohorts. Methods n = 249 PD patients from Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) and n = 84 from an external clinical cohort.

Revisiting the statistical isotropy of GRB sky distribution

open access: yes, 2019
The assumption of homogeneity and isotropy on large scales is one of the main hypotheses of the standard cosmology. In this paper, we test the hypothesis of isotropy from the two-point angular correlation function of 2626 gamma-ray bursts (GRB) of the ...

Testing Homogeneity of Odds Ratio for Stratified Bilateral Correlated Data

open access: yesAxioms
In clinical studies such as ophthalmologic or otolaryngologic research, bilateral correlated data frequently arise when outcomes are collected from paired organs or body parts.

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

Testing the homogeneity of the Universe using gamma-ray bursts

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we study the homogeneity of the GRB distribution using a subsample of the Greiner GRB catalogue, which contains 314 objects with redshift ...

On Bartlett's Test and Lehmann's Test for Homogeneity of Variances

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1969
The purpose of this paper is to compare a modified likelihood ratio test (Bartlett [2]) with the asymptotically UMP invariant test (Lehmann [8]) for testing homogeneity of variances of $k$ normal populations. We denote these tests by the "$M$ test" and "$L$ test," respectively.

Exact Tests for Two-Way Contingency Tables with Structural Zeros [PDF]

open access: yes
Fisher's exact test, named for Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher, tests contingency tables for homogeneity of proportion. This paper discusses a generalization of Fisher's exact test for the case where some of the table entries are constrained to be zero.
