OUTLIER AND HOMOGENEITY ANALYSIS OF EXTREME RAINFALL SERIES IN KANO, NIGERIA

open access: yesPlatform, a Journal of Engineering, 2021
Data preparation is one of the most important steps in the field of hydrology since the results of any research depend on whether the input data were reliable and rightly collected or not.

Formulation of Bawang Dayak (Eleutherine Bulbosa (Mill.) Urb.) Extract Into a Gel Toothpaste [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Dental caries is a disease of tooth decay that starts from the surface and evolve in the direction of the tooth, beginning with the process of tooth demineralization. Tooth decay is usually caused by the bacterium Streptococcus mutans.

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

Dynamic Panel Estimation and Homogeneity Testing Under Cross Section Dependence [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper deals with cross section dependence, homogeneity restrictions and small sample bias issues in dynamic panel regressions. To address the bias problem we develop a panel approach to median unbiased estimation that takes account of cross section ...

Clinical Conditions Associated With a High Antinuclear Antibody Titer in Individuals Without Autoimmune Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Antinuclear antibodies (ANAs) are present at high titers in 2% of the general population, but their clinical significance in individuals without an autoimmune (AI) disease is not known. We tested the hypothesis that the presence of a high ANA titer in non‐AI conditions is associated with disease.

Testing for homogeneity of gametic disequilibrium across strata

open access: yesBMC Genetics, 2007
Background Assessing the non-random associations of alleles at different loci, or gametic disequilibrium, can provide clues about aspects of population histories and mating behavior and can be useful in locating disease genes.

Homogenizing Efficiency Test Studies

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1943
Summary 1. With very careful control procedures, a plant should be able to meet the U. S. Public Health Service homogenizing efficiency test most of the time. It is felt, however, that a more liberal test would be more practical since there appears to be no reason for such a rigid test. 2. The Babcock test as per modification presented is the

Diagnostic Utility of Testing for Novel Murine Autoantibodies for Sjögren's Disease in the Rheumatology Outpatient Setting

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective The goal was to assess the diagnostic performance of three novel autoantibodies (NA) for Sjögren's disease (SjD) by comparing NA prevalence in patients with SjD, other autoimmune rheumatic diseases (ARDs), nonspecific chronic sialadenitis (CS), and controls.

A ROTTERDAM APPLICATION TO INTERNATIONAL TRADE IN FRESH APPLES: A DIFFERENTIAL APPROACH [PDF]

open access: yes
A Rotterdam import allocation model is used to fit import data for fresh apples in four importing markets important to U.S. apple exporters. Nested tests rejected homotheticity but could not reject homogeneity, symmetry, or separability among import ...

Testing homogeneity for Poisson processes

open access: yes, 2011
Summary: We developed an asymptotically optimal hypothesis test concerning the homogeneity of a Poisson process over various subintervals. Under the null hypothesis, maximum likelihood estimators for the values of the intensity function on the subintervals are determined, and are used in the test for homogeneity.
