How to use χ2 test correctly——the homogeneity test for the data of a multiway table and the implementation of SAS software

open access: yesSichuan jingshen weisheng, 2021
The purpose of the paper was to introduce the methods for the homogeneity test of odds ratio of a special multiway table (i.e g×2×2 table) and its SAS implementation.

A Parametric Bootstrap Version of Hedges’ Homogeneity Test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Hedges’ Q-test is frequently used in meta-analyses to evaluate the homogeneity of effect sizes, but for several kinds of effect size measures it does not always appropriately control the Type 1 error probability.

A Posterior p-Value for Homogeneity Testing of the Three-Sample Problem

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
In this paper, we study a special kind of finite mixture model. The sample drawn from the model consists of three parts. The first two parts are drawn from specified density functions, f1 and f2, while the third one is drawn from the mixture.

Comparative Analysis of Exact Methods for Testing Equivalence of Prevalences in Bilateral and Unilateral Combined Data with and without Assumptions of Correlation

open access: yesAxioms
In clinical studies focusing on paired body parts, diseases can manifest on either both sides (bilateral) or just one side (unilateral) of the organs. Consequently, the data in these studies may consist of records from both bilateral and unilateral cases.

Regional spatial and temporal variability of rainfall, temperature over Bangladesh and Northern Bay of Bengal

open access: yesEnvironmental Challenges, 2021
The spatial and temporal variation of rainfall, Tmax and Tmin (mean maximum and minimum temperature) and ΔT (Tmax -Tmin) of different Regions of Bangladesh and Sea Surface Temperature (SST) of Northern Bay of Bengal at seasonal and annual timescales for ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Lightweight Field Cage for a Large TPC Prototype for the ILC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We have developed and constructed the field cage of a prototype Time Projection Chamber for research and development studies for a detector at the International Linear Collider. This prototype has an inner diameter of 72 cm and a length of 61 cm.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...
