Balanced Active Core in Heterogeneous Neuronal Networks
It is hypothesized that cortical neuronal circuits operate in a global balanced state, i.e., the majority of neurons fire irregularly by receiving balanced inputs of excitation and inhibition.

Conversion of CO2 from Air into Methanol Using a Polyamine and a Homogeneous Ruthenium Catalyst.
A highly efficient homogeneous catalyst system for the production of CH3OH from CO2 using pentaethylenehexamine and Ru-Macho-BH (1) at 125-165 °C in an ethereal solvent has been developed (initial turnover frequency = 70 h(-1) at 145 °C).

AbstractHomogenization of deterministic control problems with L∞ running cost is studied by viscosity solutions techniques. It is proved that the value function of an L∞ problem in a medium with a periodic micro-structure converges uniformly on the compact sets to the value function of the homogenized problem as the period shrinks to 0.

ZNF469 regulates the expression of genes encoding extracellular matrix proteins. Endogenous ZNF469 is predominantly cytoplasmic, while in transfected cells, it forms aggregates reminiscent of biomolecular condensates, located mainly in the nucleus. These condensates exhibit overlapping staining with proteasomes and are also associated with the mitotic ...

Two biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease, amyloid β‐peptide (Aβ) and tau, induce the transformation of U‐251 and other glioblastoma cell lines into neurotoxic A1‐like reactive astrocytes. This transformation is produced by cytokines and is followed by upregulation of PMCA activity and isoform expression, and is closely associated with inflammation, as ...

Robustness of homogeneous and locally homogeneous differential inclusions [PDF]
The paper proposes constructive conditions for verification of input-to-state stability property for discontinuous systems using geometric homogeneity. Two sets of conditions are developed: for a class of homogeneous and locally homogeneous systems described by differential inclusions. The advantage of the proposed conditions is that they are not based

The impact of frailty syndrome on skeletal muscle histology: preventive effects of exercise
Frailty syndrome exacerbates skeletal muscle degeneration via increased ECM deposition and myofiber loss. This study, using a murine model, demonstrates that endurance exercise attenuates these histopathological alterations, preserving muscle integrity. Findings support exercise as a viable strategy to counteract frailty‐induced musculoskeletal decline

HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER EFFECTS ON FLOW PAST PARABOLIC STARTING MOTION OF ISOTHERMAL VERTICAL PLATE IN THE PRESENCE OF FIRST ORDER CHEMICAL REACTION [PDF]
An exact solution of unsteady flow past a parabolic starting motion of the infinite isothermal vertical plate with uniform mass diffusion, in the presence of a homogeneous chemical reaction of the first order, has been studied.
