A New Model for Homologous Chromosome Pairing [PDF]

open access: yesCaryologia, 1974
SUMMARYIt is proposed that chromosome pairing may result from the fortuitous juxtaposition of homologues by the congressive adjustments of chromosome positions during mitotic metaphase alignment. (Some unknown mechanism for stirring of chromosomes may exist in organisms with zygotic meiosis).

LincNEAT1 Encoded‐NEAT1‐31 Promotes Phagocytosis by Directly Activating the Aurora‐A–PI3K–AKT Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
LincNEAT1 Encoded‐NEAT1‐31 micropeptide directly binds with Aurora‐A and enhanced AKT pathways to pormotes phagocytosis against multi cancer cells. Abstract Macrophages play vital roles in innate and adaptive immunity, and their essential functions are mediated by phagocytosis and antigen presentation.

H3K36me3‐Guided m6A Modification of Oncogenic L1CAM‐AS1 Drives Macrophage Polarization and Immunotherapy Resistance in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
L1CAM‐AS1 is identified as a novel H3K36me3‐guided, m6A‐modified long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells. L1CAM‐AS1 stabilizes RAN protein, enhances M2 macrophages‐released CCL5‐induced nuclear import of RELA, activates the NF‐κB signaling, up‐regulates CCL2 expression and secretion from HCC cells, and enhances M2 ...

Clubroot resistance gene Rcr6 in Brassica nigra resides in a genomic region homologous to chromosome A08 in B. rapa

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology, 2019
Background Clubroot, caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae Woronin, is a very important disease of Brassica species. Management of clubroot relies heavily on genetic resistance.

Smc5/6: a link between DNA repair and unidirectional replication? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Of the three structural maintenance of chromosome (SMC) complexes, two directly regulate chromosome dynamics. The third, Smc5/6, functions mainly in homologous recombination and in completing DNA replication.

An Antagonism Between Ethylene Signaling and DNA Methylation Orchestrates the Progression of Leaf Senescence in Non‐heading Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CMT2 mediates the maintenance of DNA methylation on the promoters of SAGs, thereby inhibiting EIN3A untimely activating SAGs’ expression. Aging‐impelled striking upregulation of EIN3A strongly suppresses the expression of CMT2 to reduce the methylation level, which releases the activation of EIN3A on SAGs, thus initiating and accelerating the ...

Adaptation of the Pivotal-Differential Genome Pattern for the Induction of Intergenomic Chromosome Recombination in Hybrids of Synthetic Amphidiploids within Triticeae Tribe

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
A pivotal-differential evolution pattern is when two allopolyploids share a common genome, which is called pivotal, and differ with respect to the other genome or genomes, called differential.

Gene order and recombination rate in homologous chromosome regions of the chicken and a passerine bird.

open access: yesMolecular biology and evolution, 2007
Genome structure has been found to be highly conserved between distantly related birds and recent data for a limited part of the genome suggest that this is true also for the gene order (synteny) within chromosomes.

Natural Allelic Variations in IbCHYR1–IbZnFR Complex Regulate Fusarium Root Rot Resistance in Sweet Potato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
FfRlpA2, a conserved Fusarium effector, functions as a protease inhibitor by hijacking the E3 ubiquitin ligase IbCHYR1 to degrade the resistance factor IbZnFR, thereby promoting Fusarium pathogenicity. Conversely, the high dosage Pro::IbZnFRHap2 allele was associated with resistance to root rot disease.
