Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Higher representations and cornered Heegaard Floer homology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
I will discuss recent work with Raphael Rouquier, focusing on a higher tensor product operation for 2-representations of Khovanov's categorification of U(gl(1|1)^+), examples of such 2-representations that arise as strands algebras in bordered and ...

Metastasis on pause: How dormant tumor cells stay hidden within the tumor microenvironment and evade immune surveillance

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dormant cancer cells can hide in distant organs for years, evading treatment and the immune system. This review highlights how signals from the surrounding tissue and immune environment keep these cells inactive or trigger their reawakening. Understanding these mechanisms may help develop therapies to eliminate or control dormant cells and prevent ...

Simplicial methods and the homology of groups. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
PhDThis thesis generalizes the simplicial methods of defining derived functors and proves characterization theorems about them. In particular, we show that our methods also generalize an alternative way of defining derived functors, We use our ...

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Using torsion theory to compute the algebraic structure of Hochschild (co)homology [PDF]

open access: yes
The aim of this article is to provide explicit formulas for the cup product on the Hochschild cohomology of any nonnegatively graded connected algebra and for the cap products on the Hochschild homology of with coefficients in any graded bimodule at the ...

Ultrametrics on Čech homology groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper is devoted to introducing additional structure on Čech homology groups. First, we redefine the Čech homology groups in terms of what we have called approximative homology by using approximative sequences of cycles, just as Borsuk introduced ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Skein valued curve counts, basic holomorphic disks, and HOMFLY homology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
We describe invariant counts of holomorphic curves in a Calabi-Yau 3-fold with boundary in a Lagrangian in the skein module of that Lagrangian. We show how to turn this into concrete counts for the toric brane in the resolved conifold.
