Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

Shared Genetic Effects and Antagonistic Pleiotropy Between Multiple Sclerosis and Common Cancers

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Epidemiologic studies have reported inconsistent altered cancer risk in individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Factors such as immune dysregulation, comorbidities, and disease‐modifying therapies may contribute to this variability.

Bearing Performance of a Helical Pile for Offshore Photovoltaic under Horizontal Cyclic Loading

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
For an offshore photovoltaic helical pile foundation, significant horizontal cyclic loading is imposed by wind and waves. To study a fixed offshore PV helical pile’s horizontal cyclic bearing performance, a numerical model of the helical pile under ...

An Experimental Study on the Inelastic Behavior of Steel Frames with a Rectangular Cross-Section Subjected to Vertical and Horizontal Loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
An experimental study was made of the behavior of single bay three-storied frames, using 1/30-scale models with rectangular cross-sections. Frame models were cut from a sheet of mild steel.

Developmental and Epileptic Encephalopathy due to Biallelic Pathogenic Variants in PIGM

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective PIGM encodes a critical enzyme in the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchor biosynthesis pathway. While promoter‐region mutations in PIGM have been associated with a relatively mild phenotype characterized by portal vein thrombosis and absence seizures, recent evidence suggests that coding‐region mutations result in a more severe

Cockpit Window Edge Proximity Effects on Judgements of Horizon Vertical Displacement [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
To quantify the influence of a spatially fixed edge on vertical displacement threshold, twenty-four males (12 pilots, 12 non-pilots) were presented a series of forced choice, paired comparison trials in which a 32 deg arc wide, thin, luminous horizontal ...

Analysis of a passive microforce sensor based on magnetic spings and upthrust buoyancy.

open access: yes, 2011
International audienceThis paper is focused on the design and modeling of a new micro and nano force sensor using magnetic springs. The force sensitive part is a macroscopic horizontal rigid platform used as a oating seismic mass.

Horizontal coseismic deformation of the 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake measured from SPOT satellite images: Implications for the seismic cycle along the western foothills of central Taiwan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The 1999 Chi-Chi earthquake, M_w = 7.6, broke a major thrust fault along the western foothills of the Central Range of Taiwan. We have measured the horizontal coseismic displacement field by correlating optical satellite images acquired before and after ...

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

NEW WAY OF DETERMINING HORIZONTAL DISPLACEMENT IN COMPETITIVE TRAMPOLINING

open access: yesScience of Gymnastics Journal, 2017
The assessment criteria for competitive trampolining, which is primarily both a technical and a compositional form of sport, have been extended by the addition of some objectively measurable parameters in recent years. In addition to the degree of difficulty and the movement execution score, which is often perceived as subjective, the actual “time of ...
