Horseradish peroxidase ototoxicity [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1976
Following intracochlear perfusion of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) in artifical perilymph (1% for 10 min–4 h; 1–24 survival), HRP was demonstrated histochemically in some hair cells and supporting cells, the basilar membrane, spiral limbus and stria vascularis of 18 anesthetized (DIAL) guinea pigs. No neuronal retrograde transport occurred.

In vitro studies of temperature and pH influence on chlorophyll degradation by horseradish peroxidase: Spectroscopic and HPLC studies [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2014
In vitro chlorophyll a degradation by horseradish peroxidase in the presence of the resorcinol was investigated in this work, and the influence of pH and temperature was particularly studied.

Time-resolved fluorescence observation of di-tyrosine formation in horseradish peroxidase upon ultrasound treatment leading to enzyme inactivation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The application of ultrasound to a solution can induce cavitional phenomena and generate high localised temperatures and pressures. These are dependent of the frequency used and have enabled ultrasound application in areas such as synthetic, green and ...

Consensus mutagenesis reveals that non-helical regions influence thermal stability of horseradish peroxidase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The enzyme horseradish peroxidase has many uses in biotechnology but a stabilized derivative would have even wider applicability. To enhance thermal stability, we applied consensus mutagenesis (used successfully with other proteins) to recombinant ...

Variability of Bioactive Glucosinolates, Isothiocyanates and Enzyme Patterns in Horseradish Hairy Root Cultures Initiated from Different Organs

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Horseradish hairy root cultures are suitable plant tissue organs to study the glucosinolate−myrosinase−isothiocyanate system and also to produce the biologically active isothiocyanates and horseradish peroxidase, widely used in molecular ...

Inhibitory effect of retinol acetate on horseradish peroxidase [PDF]

open access: yesHemijska Industrija, 2013
Primary role of peroxidase enzyme is to decompose endogenous hydrogen peroxide, when oxygen radical is being replaced by a less potent radical, which is its cosubstrates oxidized form.

Evaluation of activity of peroxidases contained in various plant sources [PDF]

open access: yesИзвестия Саратовского университета. Новая серия: Серия Химия. Биология. Экология, 2023
In this study, the decolorization reaction of aqueous solution bromophenol blue dye was carried out in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and peroxidase contained in the roots of horseradish (Armoracia rusticana), radish (Raphanus sativus var.

A direct cerebello-telencephalic projection in an electrosensory mormyrid fish [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
After injections of the posterior part of the lateral zone of the area dorsalis telencephali (Dlp) with either horseradish peroxidase or the newly available carbocyanine dye DiI, efferent cells were labeled in the valvula cerebelli of the mormyrid fish ...

Effect of Water Content on the Thermal Inactivation Kinetics of Horseradish Peroxidase Freeze-Dried from Alkaline pH [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The thermal inactivation of horseradish peroxidase freeze-dried from solutions of different pH (8, 10 and 11.5, measured at 25 C) and equilibrated to different water contents was studied in the temperature range from 110 to 150 C.

Protein-bound polyphenols create “ghost” band artifacts during chemiluminescence-based antigen detection [version 2; referees: 2 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2017
Antigen detection during Western blotting commonly utilizes a horseradish peroxidase-coupled secondary antibody and enhanced chemiluminescent substrate.
