Efficacy of Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) Enzyme Process and H2O2 in Removal of Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonate (LAS) from Aqueous Solution

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2018
Background and purpose: Enzymatic treatment, due to various benefits, has attracted many researchers since long time ago. Anionic detergents are one of the largest families of detergents that entered into the environment in recent decades.

Targeting Lactate and Lactylation in Cancer Metabolism and Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lactate, once deemed a metabolic waste, emerges as a central regulator of cancer progression. This review elucidates how lactate and its epigenetic derivative, protein lactylation, orchestrate tumor metabolism, immune suppression, and therapeutic resistance.

Different rates of horseradish peroxidase transport in the optic nerve of neonatal and adult rats

open access: yes, 1996
In order to evaluate the effects of age upon fast transport kinetics, we studied the velocity of horseradish peroxidase transport along the optic pathway of neonatal and adult rats.

Functional Analysis of Ligand‐Gated Chloride Channels in a Cnidarian Sheds Light on the Evolution of Inhibitory Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We uncover a large variety of putative inhibitory ligand‐gated ion channels (LGICs) in the phylum Cnidaria, the sister group to all bilaterian animals. Phylogenetic analysis suggests a complex evolutionary history of inhibitory LGICs with diverse neurotransmitter ligands.

Hepatocyte PIEZO1 Negatively Regulates Lipogenesis and Ameliorates MASLD by Sensing Membrane Tension and Activating AMPK

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hepatocytes are subjected to increased membrane tension along with lipid accumulation. Loss of PIEZO1 exacerbates high‐fat diet‐induced MASLD in mice. Activation of PIEZO1 alleviates high‐fat diet‐induced MASLD in mice. PIEZO1 negatively regulates de novo lipogenesis through activation of CaMKK2‐AMPK pathway. ABSTRACT Liver is a central organ for lipid

Electrical communication between “Horseradish Peroxidase” and modified electrodes with nanomaterials: application as enzymatic electrochemical biosensors

open access: yes, 2019
In this compilation, the authors discuss the commercial source for the enzyme horseradish peroxidase, the tuberous roots of the horseradish plant which is native to the temperate regions of the world. Horseradish peroxidase is an oxidoreductase belonging

Mechanostimulatory Cues Determine Intestinal Fibroblast Fate and Profibrotic Remodeling in a Physiodynamic Human Gut‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative

Arterial hypotension induced by horseradish peroxidase in various rat strains.

open access: yes, 1976
The influence of various commercial preparations of horseradish peroxidase upon the arterial pressure has been investigated using direct intra-arterial pressure recordings in Nembutal anesthetized rats of different strains.
