Engineering Host-Guest Interactions in Organic Framework Materials for Drug Delivery

open access: yes, 2023
Metal-organic frameworks (MOF) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising nanocarriers for targeted drug delivery. Noncovalent interactions between frameworks and drugs play a fundamental role in the therapeutic uptake and release of the latter.

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.

Charge-transfer complexation of coordination cages for enhanced photochromism and photocatalysis

open access: yesNature Communications
Intensified host-guest electronic interplay within stable metal-organic cages (MOCs) presents great opportunities for applications in stimuli response and photocatalysis. Zr-MOCs represent a type of robust discrete hosts for such a design, but their host-

Mitigating Efficiency Roll‐Off in Phosphor‐Sensitized Fluorescence OLEDs via Molecular Polarity‐Based Benzofuropyridine Host Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Positional isomerism in dibenzofuran‐based n‐type hosts modulates molecular polarity, charge‐transport balance, and emissive‐layer packing. The higher‐polarity BFPDB‐2 host facilitates efficient energy funneling, reduced aggregation, and preferential dipole orientation, leading to phosphor‐sensitized fluorescence OLEDs with enhanced external quantum ...

An Investigation into the Role of Capping on Second Harmonic Generation from Nonlinear Organic Polymer and Guest-Host Thin Films by In-situ Poling

open access: yes, 2016
In attempts to fabricate thermally stable second-order nonlinear polymer thin films, we have investigated the second harmonic generation (SHG) from both nonlinear polymer and guest-host thin films. We have also investigated the role of capping on the SHG,

Photoactive Anthraquinone-Based Host-Guest Assembly for Long-Lived Charge Separation

open access: yes, 2020
Porous 2D-covalent organic frameworks (COF) that are assembled axially through weak π-stacking interactions can provide reticular charge transport channels while playing host to kinetically stabilized reactive molecular redox-states.

Naphthyridine‐Based Donor–Acceptor Boron Difluoride Complexes Targeting Red Emission in Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Four donor–acceptor boron difluoride complexes based on triphenylamine donor and a naphthyridine acceptor units were synthesized, studied, and applied as OLED emitters. They exhibit pronounced intramolecular charge transfer character, balanced charge transport properties, and tunable emission. Near‐unity PLQYs are achieved for selected compounds, while
