Activation of Metal Complexes With Ultrasound Waves for Targeted Anticancer Therapy

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Ultrasound enables non‐invasive activation of metal‐based therapeutics deep within tumors. Acoustic cavitation can drive sonodynamic reactive oxygen species generation or mechanochemical metal–ligand bond dissociation, enabling controlled release of bioactive payloads.

Low‐Threshold Red Lasing in Diketopyrrolopyrrole‐Based Organic Semiconductor Films

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Low‐threshold organic semiconductor lasers (OSLs) in the red region are achieved using diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) derivatives (DPA‐DPPMe and HMAT‐d‐DPP). Molecular design enables precise control of radiative‐decay and molecular orientation, suppressing optical losses and enhancing gain.

Catalysis by a Metastable Photoswitchable Cage

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled heteroleptic cage is formed by isomerizing a photoswitchable ligand to its metastable Z‐isomeric form (Z‐1) using green light and combining with a non‐switchable ligand (2) and palladium(II) ions. The metastable [Pd2(Z‐1)2(2)2]4+ cage is an out‐of‐equilibrium self‐assembled catalyst, and can be reversibly assembled and disassembled ...
