Hot Melt Extrusion: A Review of Recent Developments.

open access: yes
Hot-melt extrusion (HME) is a solvent-free, continuous, and efficient process for producing various pharmaceutical dosage forms. HME has gained significant attention in the pharmaceutical industry due to its ability to enhance the solubility and bioavailability of poorly soluble drugs, develop abuse-deterrent formulations, and create customized drug ...

Application of Ag‐Enriched Nanostructures Through Ga+ Irradiation of Silver Butyrate Films in Surface‐Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS)

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
We report a direct‐writing method for patterning silver‐enriched nanostructures with dual functionality: High electrical conductivity, with a resistivity of 95 µΩ·cm, and strong SERS activity, achieving enhancement factors exceeding 107. This approach enables an easy and cost‐effective alternative for the production of microstructures with applications

A Comparative Study of Directed Energy Deposition‐Arc and Casting: Enhancing Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Hot‐Work Tool Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The study investigates the influence of DED‐Arc/M versus casting on the microstructure and material properties of X40CrMoV5‐1 (AISI H13) hot‐work tool steel. DED‐Arc/M yields finer microstructures, superior mechanical strength, and ductility, but slightly reduced thermal conductivity.

Fatigue Strength in Additive Toolmaking: A Study of Metal Binder Jetting and Electron Beam Melting for Processing Carbide‐Rich Cold‐Work Tool Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Focusing on the critical tap hole region of the blast furnace, this work examines binder characteristics, prepares tap hole clay with different formulations, and evaluates their physical properties. The findings confirm the advantages of composite binders and offer a new binder option for tap hole clay.
