Hot ductility behavior of vanadium containing steels
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2002Abstract The hot ductility of four plain carbon steels containing different levels of V have been obtained after solution treating at 1330 °C, cooling to test temperatures in the range 700–1000 °C, and testing at a strain rate of 3×10−3 s−1. The obtained ductility troughs were compared with that obtained from Nb containing steel.

Influence of test direction on hot ductility of austenite
Materials Science and Technology, 1988Abstract The influence of test direction on the hot ductility of a hot worked high S steel (0·15%S) has been examined over the temperature range 700–1100°C and for strain rates 3·3 × 10−4 and 1·3 %times; 10−2 s−1. As with room temperature tensile testing, ductility was lowest in the short transverse direction and greatest in the longitudinal direction.

Influence of inclusions on hot ductility of Fe-25Ni
Metals Technology, 1976AbstractHot-workability tests have been conducted on an Fe-25Ni alloy, which dynamically recrystallizes during testing, to determine the effect of hard oxide inclusions on the ductility. Four different inclusion distributions have been studied and it has been established that for all these distributions ductility increases as strain rate increases and ...

Hot ductility of austenitic Fe-Ni alloys
Metals Technology, 1976AbstractThe hot ductility of a range of Fe-Ni alloys was investigated by hot tensile testing the materials in the austenitic condition. The ductility of the alloys varied in a complex manner with composition, temperature, and strain rate. The mechanism of failure was studied in a 36% Ni alloy by metallographic examination.

Hot ductility and fracture mechanisms of a structural steel
