Hot forming of large spur gears
Abstract Forming processes are generally characterized by a high degree of material utilization as well as short process times and, consequently, a decent economic efficiency. Considering their application in the manufacturing of large spur gears, forming processes offer a significantly attractive characteristic for the production of essential ...

Dual-phase hot-press forming alloy [PDF]
Hot-press forming steels are formed in a fully austenitic state followed by die-quenching in order to generate martensite and achieve strong steel. The ductility however, tends to be limited. We explore in this work a novel steel design in which the forming operation is in the two-phase austenite and ferrite field, so that the quenching results in a ...

Pathogenic Neurofibromatosis type 1 gene variants in tumors of non‐NF1 patients and role of R1276
Somatic variants of the neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) gene occur across neoplasms without clinical manifestation of the disease NF1. We identified emerging somatic pathogenic NF1 variants and hotspots, for example, at the arginine finger 1276. Those missense variants provide fundamental information about neurofibromin's role in cancer.

Production, by co-grinding in a media mill, of porous biodegradable polylactic acid-apatite composite materials for bone tissue engineering [PDF]
This paper presents the results of a study of the production of porous biodegradable composite materials by co-grinding, followed by scaffolding. Dry powders of polylactic acid and nanocrystalline carbonated apatite, analogous to bone mineral were co ...

Cooling in the X-ray halo of the rotating, massive early-type galaxy NGC 7049 [PDF]
The relative importance of the physical processes shaping the thermodynamics of the hot gas permeating rotating, massive early-type galaxies is expected to be different from that in non-rotating systems. Here, we report the results of the analysis of XMM-

Coating Degradation in Hot Press Forming
The thermo-mechanically induced microstructure changes occurring in a type 1 aluminized coating on hot press forming (HPF) steel were studied in detail. The formation of intermetallic phases at the soaking temperature prior to die quenching revealed that the coating matrix consists mainly of FeAl2 intermetallic phase by the time the press forming ...

Aluminum in Silica Phases Formed in Hot Springs [PDF]
AbstractSinters are difficult to characterize with traditional methods and are often described by their chemical composition alone. Yet information about the depositional environment and possible diagenetic processes is available in atomic structure.
