Two Novel Hot Jupiter Formation Pathways: How White Dwarf Kicks Shape the Hot Jupiter Population
The origin of Hot Jupiters (HJs) is disputed between a variety of in situ and ex situ formation scenarios. One of the early proposed ex situ scenarios was the Eccentric Kozai–Lidov (EKL) mechanism combined with tidal circularization, which can produce ...

Sampling the volcanic plumes at Io: Impact speeds and shock conditions
Abstract The desire to sample material from the interior of Io, by flying through its volcanic plumes, requires consideration of the flyby speed and the types of sample collection techniques that can be utilized. Low speed collection (1–2.5 km s−1) would require an orbit around Io itself, which is unlikely due to the accumulated radiation dose that ...

Reconstructing the Geometry of a Hot Flow Anomaly With Bounding Jets in Magnetosheath
Abstract When interplanetary magnetic field discontinuities interact with planetary bow shocks, hot flow anomalies (HFAs) form in the solar wind and can extend into the magnetosheath. Here we reconstruct the three‐dimensional geometry of an HFA bounded by two jet regions in the terrestrial magnetosheath.

The "missing link": a 4-day period transiting exoplanet around OGLE-TR-111
We report the discovery of a transiting hot Jupiter around OGLE-TR-111, from our radial velocity follow-up of OGLE transiting candidates in Carina. The planet has a mass of 0.53 +- 0.11 M_J and a radius of 1.0 +0.13-0.06 R_J.

From farm to pharma, this review details the engineering of quality in medicinal plants through a science‐driven approach: it first elucidates how genetic and environmental factors inscribe the plant's phytochemical and phytopharmacological profile before harvest, and then dissects the postharvest techniques and technologies—chemical and thermal pre ...
