Experiments with a Low-Cost Hot Isothermal Pressing Machine Developed for Superplastic Forming
Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2008Hot isothermal/isostatic pressing machines are technically good candidates for superplastic forming (SPF) of otherwise hard-to-shape materials such as superalloys. These machines are, however, very expensive so that small or medium-size enterprises can not afford them. This has impeded widespread use of SPF processing.

Forming and Simulation of Titanium Alloy Ti-6Al-4V by Hot Isostatic Pressing
Advanced Materials Research, 2013Numerical simulation of titanium alloy powder during hot isostatic pressing (HIP) with Shima model is studied in this paper. Material parameters in this model were determined based on uniaxial compression test with different relative density specimens. A titanium alloy ring sample was designed and formed by hot isostatic pressing.

Instructions for using weld strength for laser welding of hot-press-forming steel
ICALEO 2011: 30th International Congress on Laser Materials Processing, Laser Microprocessing and Nanomanufacturing, 2011For lightweight vehicles without loss of security, a demand for ultra-high-strength steel is increasing in automotive industries. Although TRIP and DP steels have the strength under 1 GPa, the boron alloyed steel after hot-stamping process has the strength over 1500 MPa.

Plastic forming of a wheel gear forge at a crank-type hot forging press
Journal of Machinery Manufacture and Reliability, 2012A numerical model of the nonstationary process of plastic forming in the case of hot open volume stamping of a wheel gear forge at a crank-type hot forging press is presented. The rigid-plastic model of the blank material with allowance for the change in the average yield load depending on the deformation rate, temperature, and kinematics of the press ...
