Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Hot Deformation Behavior and Processing Maps of Fe-30Mn-0.11C Steel [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials, 2018
Hot deformation behavior of Fe-30Mn-0.11C steel was investigated. Hot compression tests were carried out at various temperatures ranging from 800 °C to 1200 °C and at different strain rates of 0.01 s−1 to 10 s−1. The constitutive equation based on peak stress was established.

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

Deformation behavior, microstructure characterization, and dynamic recrystallization mechanism of Au-7.5Ni-1.5Cu alloy

open access: yesMaterials & Design
The application of Au-based alloys in precision instruments components has achieved good results as electric contact materials. In order to investigate the hot processing of Au-based alloys, the hot deformation behavior and dynamic recrystallization (DRX)

Flow Behavior and Hot Processing Map of GH4698 for Isothermal Compression Process [PDF]

open access: yesProcesses, 2019
An in-depth understanding of the flow behaviors of materials deformed at high temperatures is of paramount significance. However, insufficient research on the nickel-based GH4698 alloy has resulted in inaccurate material flow prediction or even cracking in the practical billet opening of GH4698 large forgings.

YlmG1 is localized exclusively to the chloroplast envelope membrane and is involved in preprotein translocation in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytosolically synthesized chloroplast preproteins are translocated across the outer and inner envelope membranes through translocons called TOC and TIC, respectively. In green algae and plants, the TIC core is composed of essential membrane proteins, Tic12, Tic20, and Tic214.

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Effect of temperature and strain rate on compressive response of extruded magnesium nano-composite

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2015
The hot deformation behaviour of extruded magnesium-zinc oxide nano composite has been studied using hot compression test. The test was conducted in the temperature range of 250–400 °C and in the strain rate range of 0.01 to 1.5 s−1.The processing map ...

Association of Corticospinal Tract Asymmetry With Ambulatory Ability After Intracerebral Hemorrhage

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ambulatory ability after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is important to patients. We tested whether asymmetry between ipsi‐ and contra‐lesional corticospinal tracts (CSTs) assessed by diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is associated with post‐ICH ambulation.
