Hot wire anemometer measurements in the unheated air flow tests of the SRB nozzle-to-case joint [PDF]

open access: yes
Hot-Wire Anemometer measurements made in the Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) nozzle-to-case joint are discussed. The study was undertaken to glean additional information on the circumferential flow induced in the SRB nozzle joint and the effect of this flow ...

DNS of a hot-wire anemometer in a turbulent channel flow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A body with a shape similar to a hot wire with its sheath, but no prongs, has been placed close to the wall of a turbulent channel at Re_tau = 600. The results of the channel flow, without the wire, agree with previous published ones, despite the modest ...

Magnetism and Nonlinear Charge Transport in NiFe2O4/γ‐Al2O3/SrTiO3 Heterostructure: Toward Spintronic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, we demonstrate that a crystalline phase of 52nm thick NiFe2O4 can be grown by RF sputtering on top of γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 at a significantly low temperature (150 °C) without compromising the mobility and carrier density of the 2D electron gas at the γ‐Al2O3(8nm)/SrTiO3 interface.

Comparison of hot wire/laser velocimeter turbulence intensity measurements [PDF]

open access: yes
The question of whether a random measure of particle velocities yields a good statistical estimate of the stationary condition of the turbulence flow field was investigated by comparing hot-wire and laser velocimeter turbulence intensity measurements ...

Conductive Bonding and System Architectures for High‐Performance Flexible Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review outlines bonding technologies and structural design strategies that support high‐performance flexible and stretchable electronics. Bonding approaches such as surface‐activated bonding and anisotropic conductive films, together with system‐level architectures including buffer layers and island‐bridge structures, possess distinct mechanical ...

Development of subminiature multi-sensor hot-wire probes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Limitations on the spatial resolution of multisensor hot wire probes have precluded accurate measurements of Reynolds stresses very near solid surfaces in wind tunnels and in many practical aerodynamic flows.

Plasmon-pole approximation for semiconductor quantum wire electrons

open access: yes, 1996
We develop the plasmon-pole approximation for an interacting electron gas confined in a semiconductor quantum wire. We argue that the plasmon-pole approximation becomes a more accurate approach in quantum wire systems than in higher dimensional systems ...

Nanolayer‐Encapsulated Stretchable Liquid‐Metal Sheets for Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A stretchable liquid metal sheet with both high thermal conductivity and mechanical flexibility is developed. Its trilayer structure, comprising copper‐particle‐dispersed gallium liquid metal encapsulated by styrene‐butadiene‐styrene nanosheets, shows 40.4 W m−1 K−1 conductivity, elongation exceeding 200%, and retention of 96% of its initial ...
