Constitutive Modelling and Hot Workability Analysis by Microstructure Examination of GH4169 Alloy

open access: yesCrystals, 2018
The relationships between hot deformation parameters and flow behaviour have attracted many researchers’ attention for the past few decades, whilst precise constitutive modelling of GH4169 remained a problem, which seriously affected the process ...

Investigation on hot workability and mechanical properties of.pdf

open access: yes, 2022
This paper explores the effects of solution treatment on hot workability and mechanical properties of a Ni3Al-based alloy named IC-221M. As-cast IC-221M alloy cracked during the hot working process. Optical and scanning electron microscopy revealed that cracks initiated and propagated through ?+Ni5Zr eutectic phase during hot working.

Enhancing constitutive description and workability characterization of Mg alloy during hot deformation using machine learning-based Arrhenius-type model

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
Hot deformation is a commonly employed processing technique to enhance the ductility and workability of Mg alloy. However, the hot deformation of Mg alloy is highly sensitive to factors such as temperature, strain rate, and strain, leading to complex ...

Assessment of process-induced cracks in hot-working operations using crack susceptibility index based on plastic instability criteria

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
A processing map representing the efficiency of power dissipation as a function of the temperature and strain rate has been used as a guide to depict the hot workability of metallic alloys.

Silver Matrix Composite Reinforced by Aluminium-Silver Intermetallic Phases

open access: yesArchives of Metallurgy and Materials, 2017
Silver and aluminum powders (82 mass % Ag and 18 mass % Al) were mixed and hot extruded at 673 K with extrusion ratio λ = 25. Performed X-ray diffraction analysis of as extruded rod revealed the development of Ag3Al and Ag2Al-type intermetallic phases ...
