Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Mapping agrobiodiversity in Europe: Different indicators, different priority areas

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2023
Agriculture plays a dual role in the conservation of European biodiversity, as extensive agricultural lands provide habitats for more than half of Europe's species, but intensification and abandonment of farmland threaten these species' habitats ...

KNOWLEDGE MAP, HOTSPOTS AND FRONTIERS OF ECOLOGICAL INNOVATION

open access: yes2021 International Conference on Education, Humanity and Language, Art (EHLA 2021), 2021
China is facing the "ecological deficit" caused by environmental pollution and shortage of energy resources. Ecological innovation, as the integration point of innovation-driven development strategy and sustainable development strategy, provides a feasible path for achieving a win-win situation for the economy, society and the environment. Based on the

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Fokus auf der Untersuchung des Einflusses biometrischer Faktoren auf das Ergebnis der nTMS Messung sprachrelevanter Areale neurochirurgischer Patienten [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Objective: Navigated transcranial magnetic stimulation (nTMS) is a non-invasive mapping tool to locate functional areas of the brain, gaining importance as a preoperative diagnostic device. This is a summary of three studies, Schwarzer et al., Rosenstock

Monitoring of circulating tumor DNA allows early detection of disease relapse in patients with operable breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.

Spatio-Temporal Sentiment Hotspot Detection Using Geotagged Photos

open access: yes, 2016
We perform spatio-temporal analysis of public sentiment using geotagged photo collections. We develop a deep learning-based classifier that predicts the emotion conveyed by an image. This allows us to associate sentiment with place.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...
