Abstract This article offers new perspectives on the relationship between elementary teaching, scientific expertise and the professionalization of the human sciences. Previous scholarship has demonstrated the ready existence of ‘amateur’ science societies in the nineteenth century where cross‐class exchanges were common.

Expanding Phenotype of GINS1 Deficiency: A Case Report and Review of the Literature
The authors present a novel case and review of individuals with GINS1 deficiency, causing severe growth restriction and combined immunodeficiency. Only the ninth case of this ultrarare disorder, it highlights the role of these variants in disease, glaucoma as a feature, and the possibility of immunodeficiency without infections in affected individuals.

The intersective Hough transform for geophysical applications
La transformada de Hough es una herramienta ampliamente utilizada para identificación de alineamientos, pero el método de votación utilizado usualmente en esta transformada presenta serios problemas cuando las alineaciones no son exactas.

Progressive Probabilistic Hough Transform [PDF]
This thesis presents the Progressive Probabilistic Hough Transform (PPHT). Unlike the Probabilistic HT [46] where the Standard HT is performed on a pre-selected fraction of input points, the PPHT minimises the amount of computation needed to detect lines by exploiting the difference in the fraction of votes needed to reliably detect lines with ...

Markov Determinantal Point Process for Dynamic Random Sets
ABSTRACT The Law of Determinantal Point Process (LDPP) is a flexible parametric family of distributions over random sets defined on a finite state space, or equivalently over multivariate binary variables. The aim of this paper is to introduce Markov processes of random sets within the LDPP framework. We show that, when the pairwise distribution of two

Progressive Probabilistic Hough Transform for line detection [PDF]
We present a novel Hough Transform algorithm referred to as Progressive Probabilistic Hough Transform (PPHT). Unlike the Probabilistic HT where Standard HT is performed on a pre-selected fraction of input points, PPHT minimises the amount of computation ...
