Hourglass Worm Gearing with Worm Teeth Generated by High-Speed Screw Cutting Method. Manufacturing of High-Speed Hourglass Worm Screw Cutting Machine and Performance Test Results of the Worm Gear Generated by this New Machine.

open access: yesJSME International Journal Series C-Mechanical Systems Machine Elements and Manufacturing, 2001
Authors reported theory of hourglass worm gearing whose worm is generated by high speed screw generating method, on previous report. CNC high speed hourglass worm generating machine has been developed according to the theory. And worm cutting test and performance test of worm gearing was made.

A processing method for rough cutting hourglass worm on general NC lathe

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Mechanical Design, Systems and Manufacturing, 2019
The manufacturing method of two spatial-orthogonal rotary axis linkage is usually used to cut hourglass worm. However, the traditional processing method of roughing tooth groove depends on the special machine, specific tool, and its processing efficiency is lower.

A New Method of Inspecting an Hourglass Worm.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1992
A method of inspecting an hourglass worm is newly proposed. The equation expressing the worm tooth surface involves some constants corresponding to the machine setting of the grinding wheel on a worm grinding machine. The constants differ from the design values because of machine setting error.

Polymorphic organization in a planktonic graptoloid (Hemichordata: Pterobranchia) colony of Late Ordovician age [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Graptolites are common fossils in Early Palaeozoic strata, but little is known of their soft-part anatomy. However, we report a long-overlooked specimen of Dicranograptus aff.

Establishment of Straight Profile Hourglass Worm under Virtual Reality

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2023
Abstract Virtual workpiece is widely used in dynamic simulation and can be imported into the Virtual Gear Measuring Center (VGMC) to be virtually measured. The tooth surface of hourglass worm is complicated, so the dynamic meshing performance is often improved by modification of the tooth surface.

Grinding of high accurate hourglass worm. Trial manufacture of worm grinding device.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 1988
High accurate worm gears can be effectively used as an angle dividing standard. Wildhaber worm gearing is a kind of hourglass worm gearing. Due to the geometrical simplicity, its worm and worm wheel can be easily finished and accurately measured. This study describes a precision grinding method of the Wildhaber worm.

A study on hourglass-worm gearings designed to concentrate surface normals. A gear disign using an hourglass-worm gearing with an arcuate tooth profile.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 1990
In order to avoid the influence of the displacement of gear axes under load upon tooth contact, the authors propose that a projective group of the surface normals should be concentrated upon the intersection point of the plane perpendicular to the wheel axis and the axis about which the worm axis rotates, displacing its position relative to the wheel ...

Run-on of germline apoptosis promotes gonad senescence in C. elegans [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aging (senescence) includes causal mechanisms (etiologies) of late-life disease, which remain poorly understood. According to the recently proposed hyperfunction theory, based on the older theory of antagonistic pleiotropy, senescent pathologies can ...
