Nanoscale chitin fiber orientations in the insect wing play a critical role in adapting to complex mechanical demands. These findings reveal two distinct and functionally adaptive chitin orientation patterns in the membranes that vary regionally, optimizing mechanical resilience and deformation control.

We developed a cotton fabric/MoS2 composite by coating cotton with a MoS2/dopamine solution. This dual‐interface symmetrical solar evaporator (DS‐SFE)exibits self‐cleaning and salt‐rejection properties. It achieves 95.5% solar absorption and a 40.0 kg m−2water supply flux.

Hindley invented an hourglass worm pair in 1765 (Dudas, 2000). Samuel and Portsmouth studied the applicable technology to manufacture this type of worm drive (Cone, 1927).

Abstract In recent years, the Big 4 firms have embarked on digital transformation projects that have the potential to throw auditors' daily practice into turmoil. This study looks at the auditors' quest for professional security—namely, their confidence in the fundamental features of their profession.

Theoretical Research of Roller Enveloping the Side-worm Gear Pairs Drive
Roller enveloping the side-worm gear pairs drive is proposed basing on roller enveloping hourglass worm drive. Roller enveloping the side-worm gear pairs drive means to assembling the roller on the end surface of the worm wheel equally.

Could photoperiodic responses have evolved before the emergence of circadian clocks?
Summary Plants use photoperiod (i.e. day length) as a seasonal cue for timing when to flower. This ability, known as photoperiodism, also underlies phenomena such as migration, seasonal reproduction, and hibernation in animals. Because a circadian (daily) clock underlies the day/night length timing mechanism in most organisms, it has been generally ...

Recently Evolved, Stage‐Specific Genes Are Enriched at Life‐Stage Transitions in Flies
We discovered that 20%–30% of protein‐coding genes in Drosophila melanogaster and Aedes aegypti are only expressed during specific stages of development. Surprisingly, many of these stage‐specific genes are newly evolved, unique to flies and mosquitoes, shedding light on how insect development has evolved over time.

Neurobiology of mitochondrial dynamics in sleep
Abstract figure legend In neurons, variations in sleep history are accompanied by alterations in mitochondrial dynamics, including changes in size, fission and fusion events, the emergence of extra‐large and ‘hourglass’‐shaped mitochondria, mitophagy, and modifications in intracristal space volume and in the number of contact sites between mitochondria

Super‐Resolution Microscopy in Tissue Engineering
Super‐resolution microscopy (SRM) has advanced tissue engineering by providing nanoscale insights into cellular interactions. It reveals detailed cell membrane structures, tracks vesicle and virus entry, and visualizes the cytoskeleton. SRM also improves understanding of cell migration, facilitating tissue regeneration, vascularization, immune ...

Diabetic Kidney Disease‐Associated Pathological Angiogenesis: The Role of Aquaporin‐1
Hyperglycemia upregulates AQP1 expression in renal endothelial cells, promoting abnormal angiogenesis. Structurally and functionally immature vessels lead to glomerular capillary leakage, proteinuria, and progressive renal injury. Targeting AQP1 may attenuate abnormal angiogenesis in DKD and slow disease progression.
