Evolution of the active sequences of the HpaI short interspersed elements

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1995
Ninety-nine members of the salmonid HpaI and AvaIII families of short interspersed repetitive elements (SINEs) were aligned and a general consensus sequence was deduced. The presence of 26 correlated changes in nucleotides (diagnostic nucleotides) from those in the consensus sequence allowed us to divide the members of the HpaI family into 12 ...

HPAI surveillance programme in Cambodia: results and perspectives.

Developments in biologicals, 2006
Cambodia has faced 15 confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza (H5N1) outbreaks in different sectors of the poultry industry since January 2004. The country has very limited human and financial resources and, when the outbreak first began, the veterinary services were not equipped with the basic tools to collect accurate epidemiological information ...

The Great PCR and HPAI Mistake

Journal of Independent Medicine
Despite Kary Mullis PhD saying that PCR testing cannot tell if there is disease present, or if an individual is infectious, it has become a commonly used test in veterinary medicine for certain infections. This review paper explains why clinical diagnosis and use as a standalone technique in research constitutes inappropriate usage of PCR and risks ...

HPAI In Dairy Cattle

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI, H5N1) infections in dairy cattle. In 2025, over 1,000 livestock cases were reported across 19 U.S. states, with no cases yet confirmed in 2026. In cattle, symptoms are generally mild and include decreased milk production, reduced appetite, dry feces, mild fever, reduced rumination, and thickened or discolored ...

HpaI polymorphism and the sickle gene in Nigerians.

Gene geography : a computerized bulletin on human gene frequencies, 1991
The HpaI restriction fragment length polymorphism linked to the beta globin gene was studied in 181 Nigerian subjects. The beta s gene was found in the 13 kilobase (kb) HpaI fragment in 98.4 percent and in the remaining 1.6 percent of the cases in the HpaI 7.6 kb fragment.

Family poultry, food security and the impact of HPAI

World's Poultry Science Journal, 2007
Most rural households have poultry cared for by women, children and vulnerable people – the aged and physically challenged. Family poultry generate 19–50% of rural family income, make up about 77% of the national flock and contribute about 98% of poultry products consumed in the villages of developing countries.

[Isolation of modification-restriction enzymes HpaI and HpaII].

Biokhimiia (Moscow, Russia), 1986
A method for simultaneous isolation of four enzymes of modification-restriction of DNA from Haemophilus parainfluenzae is proposed. The properties of HpaI and HpaII DNA-methylases were investigated.
