Mitigating Health Disparities Through Empathetic Policymaking During Times of Crisis

open access: yesPublic Administration and Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The COVID‐19 pandemic greatly exacerbated the existing disparities and inequities in health and healthcare among historically marginalized populations. Today, these impacts still echo. Combining radiotherapy with CAR‐T cell therapy for solid tumors: Challenges, mechanisms, and future directions

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy enhances CAR‐Tcell therapy by increasing antigenicity, improving trafficking, and reshaping the tumor microenvironment. Despite its dual effects, including potential immune suppression, understanding these mechanisms enables the development of strategies to maximize synergy in solid tumors.

Skeletal muscle status and malnutrition as predictors of short‐term radiotherapy response and oral mucositis in head and neck cancer

open access: yesPrecision Radiation Oncology, EarlyView.
Baseline muscle mass and malnutrition were not decisive for short‐term radiotherapy outcomes in advanced head‐and‐neck cancer, yet diminished hand‐grip strength signaled poorer tumor response. This suggests that functional muscle metrics may serve as an accessible, actionable biomarker warranting validation in larger longitudinal cohorts.

Local regulatory anticipation and GHG emissions

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Regulatory anticipation is a nonmarket response whereby firms, foreseeing future penalties, adjust their behavior when peers are targeted by regulators. Prior research defines peers using broad jurisdictional boundaries. Instead, I argue that regulatory anticipation may emerge locally, driven by two channels: proximity to peer

Facility Type Predicts Treatment Regimen for Human Papillomavirus Positive Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Treatment landscapes are changing for HPV+ oropharyngeal cancer (OPC) without compromising oncologic outcomes. We aim to analyze treatment trends of HPV+ OPC at academic (ACs) and nonacademic centers (NACs). Methods The National Cancer Database was queried, and multinomial logistic regression was used to predict treatment trends ...
