Effects of Acute Low‐ and Moderate‐Dose Alcohol on Chronic Disease‐Related Biomarkers in Healthy Light and Heavy Drinkers

This randomized, placebo‐controlled trial compared the effects of low‐ and moderate‐dose alcohol on biomarkers related to chronic disease in light and heavy drinkers. We identified novel acute alcohol effects as well as between‐group differences suggestive of pathophysiological processes by which alcohol use may promote chronic disease.

Longer Asthma Duration Is Associated With Elevated Non‐T2 Sputum Biomarkers and Reduced T2 Inflammation in Severe Asthma

Longer asthma duration is associated with increased airway non‐T2 inflammation and reduced airway and systemic T2 inflammation. Sputum CXCL9 is independently associated with duration and may predict a reduced poor response to anti‐IL‐4Rα therapy.
