Two loop detection mechanisms: a comparison [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
In order to compare two loop detection mechanisms we describe two calculi for theorem proving in intuitionistic propositional logic. We call them both MJ Hist, and distinguish between them by description as `Swiss' or `Scottish'. These calculi combine in

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Touch-driven advantages in reaction time but not in performance in a cross-sensory comparison of reinforcement learning

open access: yesHeliyon
Recent research has highlighted a notable confidence bias in the haptic sense, yet its impact on learning relative to other senses remains unexplored. This online study investigated learning behaviour across visual, auditory, and haptic modalities using ...

Viewpoint: Human-in-the-loop Artificial Intelligence [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Artificial Intelligence Research, 2019
Little by little, newspapers are revealing the bright future that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is building. Intelligent machines will help everywhere. However, this bright future may have a possible dark side: a dramatic job market contraction before its unpredictable transformation.

Automated FRAP microscopy for high‐throughput analysis of protein dynamics in chromatin organization and transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
RoboMic is an automated confocal microscopy pipeline for high‐throughput functional imaging in living cells. Demonstrated with fluorescence recovery after photobleaching (FRAP), it integrates AI‐driven nuclear segmentation, ROI selection, bleaching, and analysis.

Two loop vertices and tree level multicollinear limits in QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a summary of the methods required to solve loop-integrals and their reduction to Master Integrals. We then present the expansion in d = 4 - 2e of the Master Integrals required for the two loop massless vertex diagrams with three off-shell legs.

Effective User Interfaces for Human-in-the-loop Optimisation

open access: yes, 2019
The human-in-the-loop approach for optimisation plays an important role in decision support. However, the HCI aspects are often overlooked.

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...
