Gynecologic Oncology, 1985Plasminogen activator activity (PAA) has been proposed as an indicator of aggressiveness of tumors and has been shown to be hormonally modulated. To test this hypotheses in human endometrial carcinoma, tumor explants were assayed for PAA secretion and the results correlated with histopathologic criteria of aggressiveness.

Activated Macrophages in Human Periodontitis
Journal of Periodontology, 1981Fifteen patients, eight males and seven females, ranging from 30 to 88 years of age with advanced periodontal disease were selected for this study. Biopsies and blood samples were taken of both normal and inflamed gingival tissues, and processed for detection of nonspecific esterase and acid phosphatase activity in monocytes and macrophages.
