The Host Cell Factor Phosphatase‐2A Subunit PR130 Restricts Replication of Herpes Simplex Virus Type‐1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Molecular, genetic, virological, and biochemical analysis in combination with global proteome and phosphoproteome profiling and functional assays were applied to study the role of PR130 in the context of HSV‐1 replication. The observations reveal that host‐intrinsic mechanisms regulate HSV‐1 replication and highlight PR130 as a susceptibility factor of

Prevalence of human respiratory syncytial virus, parainfluenza and adenoviruses in East Africa Community partner states of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda: A systematic review and meta-analysis (2007-2020).

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
BackgroundViruses are responsible for a large proportion of acute respiratory tract infections (ARTIs). Human influenza, parainfluenza, respiratory-syncytial-virus, and adenoviruses are among the leading cause of ARTIs.

Epigenetic Silencing of RFX7 Defines a Transcriptional Axis Linking Lactate Metabolism to Immune Checkpoint Therapy in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) exhibits RFX7 silencing via promoter hypermethylation, which downregulates PIK3IP1 to activate PI3K/AKT signaling, increase lactate accumulation, and enhance histone H4K12 lactylation. This lactylation upregulates PD‐L1/CSF1 expression and drives the immunosuppressive microenvironment formation.

Structure-derived insights from blood factors binding to the surfaces of different adenoviruses

open access: yesNature Communications
The tropism of adenoviruses (Ads) is significantly influenced by the binding of various blood factors. To investigate differences in their binding, we conducted cryo-EM analysis on complexes of several human adenoviruses with human platelet factor-4 (PF4)

Comparative Effect of Oncolytic Adenoviruses with E1 A or E113-55 kDa Deletions in Malignant Gliomas

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2005
Replication-competent oncolytic adenoviruses hold considerable promise for treating malignant gliomas. The toxicity of the clinically tested Ell B-55 kDa mutant virus is negligible; however, its full clinical potential is still being evaluated.

Nonhuman primate adenoviruses for use as oncolytic agents

open access: yes, 2023
Nonhuman primate adenoviruses have formed a valuable alternative for the use of human adenoviruses in vaccine development and gene therapy strategies by virtue of the low seroprevalence of neutralizing immunity in the human population.

Oncolytic adenoviruses as a therapeutic approach for osteosarcoma: A new hope

open access: yesJournal of Bone Oncology, 2017
Osteosarcoma is the most common bone cancer among those with non-hematological origin and affects mainly pediatric patients. In the last 50 years, refinements in surgical procedures, as well as the introduction of aggressive neoadjuvant and adjuvant ...
