The Landscape and Regulation of Histone Crotonylation in Mammalian Gametes and Early Embryos

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Histone crotonylation undergoes a genome‐wide transition from broad domains to canonical narrow peaks during minor zygotic genome activation (ZGA). This remodeling is required for proper major ZGA and blastocyst formation. Disruption of this transition by transcriptional inhibition, metabolic perturbation, or HDAC1 dysfunction impairs embryonic ...

Elevated beta-human chorionic gonadotropin levels in a patient with end-stage renal disease awaiting kidney transplantation: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin is routinely measured as a pregnancy marker in women of reproductive age prior to diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.

THE ROLE OF HUMAN CHORIONIC GONADOTROPIN IN THE TREATMENT OF RETRACTILE TESTIS [PDF]

open access: yesBasrah Journal of Surgery, 2016
A retractile testis is the testis that can be brought down into the scrotum but then after a period retract upward outside the scrotum by the action of cremasteric muscle.

Extragonadal LH/hCG action-Not yet time to rewrite textbooks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Gonadotropins are indispensable in both sexes in the regulation of gonadal sex steroid production and gametogenesis. In addition to their well-established classical actions, numerous recent publications have indicated the presence and function of ...

Fosl2 Regulates FSH‐Dependent Follicle Maturation Through Feedback Amplification of FSH/FSHR Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a FOSL2‐driven positive feedback loop that amplifies FSH/FSHR signaling. During FSH‐dependent follicle maturation, FSH induces Fosl2 expression via the cAMP‐PKA‐CREB cascade. FOSL2 in turn binds the promoters of Fshr and estrogen‐biosynthesis genes to enhance their transcription, thereby increasing Fshr mRNA level and amplifying ...

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin Influences Systemic Autoimmune Responses

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2018
Immunopathological outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE; or lupus) are believed to be autoantibody-mediated. Conditions which promote a Th2 skew (such as pregnancy) should encourage antibody production, worsening antibody-mediated diseases while

Non–surgical management of abdominal ectopic pregnancy with uterine artery embolization

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2022
Abdominal pregnancy is a rare but life-threatening variation of ectopic pregnancy that is often treated with laparoscopic management; however, we present a case successfully treated using only minimally invasive techniques. A 36-year-old female G1P0 with

Update on male reproductive endocrinology. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Practitioners of male reproductive and sexual medicine must have an intimate understanding of the physiology of male reproductive endocrinology, as such a knowledge is the cornerstone on which hormonal treatments are based.

Paternal Caffeine Exposure Programs Offspring Stress Vulnerability via Sperm Dlk1‐Dio3 Imprinting‐Directed Remodeling of a Novel Neural Circuit

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study elucidates that paternal preconception stress can drive offspring hyperresponsivity of the stress system via hypomethylation of a specific DNA region in sperm. This key link is confirmed in a cohort of prospective fathers: the epigenetic alteration is associated with elevated stress hormone levels.

Natural Resistance to Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome in Estrildid Finches Reveals Macrophage GPR183 as a Potential Therapeutic Target

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ovarian macrophage depletion reverses OHSS resistance in estrildid finches and exacerbates OHSS symptoms in rats. Activating macrophage GPR183 alleviates OHSS by reducing pro‐inflammatory factors, increasing immunomodulatory molecules, remodeling CD44/SDC4‐mediated communication, and restoring immune homeostasis.
