Using the HClO4–H2O2 System for Efficient Platinum Leaching: Optimal Conditions and Kinetics

open access: yesChemPlusChem, EarlyView.
GA: The platinum leaching using HClO4 and H2O2 is studied. For each HClO4 concentration, an H2O2/HClO4 = 2.5 ratio optimizes the kinetics. The best operating conditions are ≈70 °C, [HClO4] 3 m, and [H2O2] 7.2 m. The leaching process is governed by diffusion in the boundary layer and chemical reaction. In this new extraction process, Cl2(g) is generated

Repurposing Acebutolol for Osteoporosis Treatment: Insights From Multi‐Omics and Multi‐Modal Data Analysis

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology &Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Overview of a multi‐omics based drug repurposing strategy. The systematic drug repurposing strategy included the following steps: (1) osteoporosis driver signaling networks were identified from multi‐omics data; (2) drug functional modules were obtained using a network fusion approach to integrate drug similarity information; (3) all drugs were ranked ...

Mediation Agreement in the Courtroom

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Existing European legal scholarship focuses primarily on legal frameworks and conditions for mediation, while not delving into practical aspects of mediation on the ground. Concurrently, the social sciences lack the analysis of roles and approaches of different actors in mediation.

Is human fertility declining?

International Congress Series, 2004
Abstract During the past decades, we have witnessed a remarkable decline in fertility rates (number of births per 1000 women of reproductive age) in the industrialized world. It seems beyond doubt that the enormous social changes of our societies play the major role in this decline, but we argue that reduced fecundity (the ability to conceive) in the

Fertilization abnormalities in human in-vitro fertilization

Human Reproduction, 1992
Fertilization abnormalities (premature chromosome condensation of spermatozoa (PCC), triploidy, haploidy) were analysed in order to determine their origin. PCC occurs in 9% of unfertilized oocytes and seems to be the consequence of a failure of oocyte activation, leading to the continuing presence of cytoplasmic chromosome-condensing factors, causing ...

Human Fertility in India [PDF]

open access: possibleAmerican Journal of Sociology, 1946
India's population problem might be solved if her traditionally high fertility could be reduced. The present analysis assesses the possibility of such a reduction in the next two or three decades. The birth rate in the past shows no definite downward trend. The rural-urban differential shows no increase in the gap between city and country.
