Cars2‐Mediated Cysteine Catabolism Drives Brown Fat Development and Thermogenesis Through Persulfidating EBF2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

The Emerging Parkinson's Disease Oxylipin‐Ome

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Parkinson Disease (PD) is increasingly considered a proteinopathy and lipidopathy. This proteinopathy+lipidopathy paradigm has been further refined to a fatty acid (FA)‐opathy, centering dysregulated FA metabolism as fundamental in PD lipid dysfunction.

Human Gut Microbiota Composition Associated with International Travels

open access: yesTravel Medicine and Infectious Disease
The objective of this study was to evaluate whether long stays in non-European countries influence the composition, diversity, and dynamics of gut microbiota, considering the potential impact of travelling, close contact with new people, and consumption of water and food. Two prospective cohorts were analyzed: (i) A longitudinal cohort comprising long ...

Gut microbiota CLA and IL-35 induction in macrophages through Gαq/11-mediated STAT1/4 pathway: an animal-based study

open access: yesGut Microbes
Gut microbiota/metabolites not only participate in the food and energy metabolism but also contribute to the host immune response and homeostasis. The alternation of gut microbiota/metabolites has been widely related to intestinal and extra-intestinal ...

Constraint of Lignin–Carbohydrate Complex Orchestrated on Polyphenol in Oil–Water Interface Targeting Ulcerative Colitis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the W1/O/W2 emulsion–based targeted therapy delivery system for ulcerative colitis (UC) utilizing LCC as surfactant for the first time. This multifunctional emulsion offered certain therapeutic advantages for UC, including targeted colonic delivery of active compounds, synergistic modulation of gut microbiota through combined ...

Laparoscopic Delivery of a MnO2‐P‐ICG Patch for Photodynamic Therapy and NK Cell‐Driven Immunotherapy in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study proposes a flexible MnO2‐P‐ICG nanofiber patch for laparoscopic treatment of liver tumors. The patch alleviates tumor hypoxia and induces photodynamic therapy (PDT) triggered immunogenic cell death, thereby activating the cGAS‐STING pathway and, in synergy with pachymaran, promoting NK cell–mediated innate immunity. This synergistic strategy
